This is too much of a hassle.

Sunoo puts the pen down to be able to turn the page of the book. He has to pick the pen up again and start writing. He was given two hands for a reason and he never imagined this moment would come where he can only use one. No, not because the other one is injured or something. Someone was holding it under the table.

He is currently sitting in the library, beside him is Riki who was busy doing his own homework. Sunoo didn’t know if Riki being left-handed is a good thing or not. Although it feels great to have someone to hold his hands, like the cringe high-school romance in the movie, holding hands while doing homework is too much hassle.

Sunoo tried to remove his hand away from Riki, but the younger one only glared at him until he stopped trying.

“Why are you so clingy,” Sunoo said, rolling his eyes.

Riki didn’t bother answering.

They were not even together, like together. Sunoo made the first move of confessing, he refused to pop the question and ask Riki to be his boyfriend. That is beyond the power of his pride.

Although it’s still unclear, Sunoo was content with this stage of the relationship they are currently sharing. Except this part where the younger kept on clinging onto him to the point that it’s already annoying.

“What more if we…” Sunoo stopped mid-sentence before he could say it.

Riki gave him a confused look, but there was a playful smile on his lips. Sunoo hated that look.

“Hm?” Riki hums.

“I’m never inviting you to the library again,” Sunoo said, trying to change the topic.

“Then, I’ll invite you,” Riki casually said, still flashing Sunoo the same playful smile.

“I can decline.”

“You can’t if I say so.”

“Who are you to make a decision for me?” Sunoo asked, raising an eyebrow.

“We can make decisions for each other,” Riki shrugged.

“Eh?” Sunoo asked, confused. “Don’t you think you’re taking things a little bit too far? That’s like a thing for married couple-”

Sunoo stopped speaking when Riki laughed. The freshman then finally released Sunoo’s hand.

“We’ll get there soon,” Riki said with a hint of teasing in his voice. “When you don’t just like me anymore.”

Jake watched from the end of the room as Heeseung collected the gifts and letters stocked inside his locker. He waited until the elder has sorted everything and was about to leave before he came after him.

“Here’s more,” Jake said, offering another bag of snacks. “It’s from Sunghoon’s locker.”

Heeseung took the bag of snacks but didn’t say anything.

“Can I go with you?” Jake asked.

“To the adoption center?” Heeseung asked. “Sure, but the kids can be a bit annoying for you. They will ask questions after questions.”

“It’s okay, I have a lot of patience with me,” Jake shrugged.

Both boys walked side by side off to the university gate.

“What do you plan to do after the graduation?” Jake asked. Trying to create a conversation between them to avoid awkward silence.

“Me?” Heeseung said. “I’m going back home for a while. There’s a vet clinic in our neighborhood, so I can work there for a while.”

Jake nodded.

“How about you?” Heeseung asked back. “Will you start managing your father’s business or you’re going to start from the bottom?”

“I’ll have to figure out how to ask you out, first.”

The sudden confession made Heeseung stop walking and stared at the person standing beside him.

“Eh?”

“By then, maybe I'll be able to do whatever my Dad has planned for me. He knows the best so I believe his decision will be for the better,” Jake says, ignoring the confusion in Heeseung’s face. “Don’t just stare at me and let’s get to the adoption center before it’s dark. The kids are waiting.”

Jake held Heeseung's arms and dragged him along the way. The fifteen-minute walk was filled with nothing but silence. It was too awkward, but Heeseung can’t seem to brighten up the mood.

When they reached the adoption center, Heeseung couldn’t believe what was waiting for him inside.

The children were dressed in new, expensive clothes. Each of them held a piece of paper with a big letter written in it. They were trying to sing a song but since they don’t know the lyrics, it sounded like a humming in a mess.

“Heeseung, will you be my boyfriend?”
