Heeseung took his phone on the table, wondering why it kept vibrating then he went to stood before the microwave again.
He opened the message and saw their group chat being spammed by Sunghoon.
“Help!”
“Riki won't let me go.”
“I'm already tired.”
“It's nine and we're still inside the university.”
Heeseung scrolled through the bunch of pictures. White paints covered Sunghoon's shirt and Riki was busy painting up on the bleachers.
“Isn't that vandalizing?” Jay's message appeared.
“We were painting the whole grandstand, this is not vandalizing,” Riki replied.
“So this was why my phone is blowing up? Sunghoon stop texting and help me instead!”
“I've been helping you since yesterday!” Sunghoon replied back.
Heeseung only shakes his head, smiling. He missed them so much, but he has no time to visit them.
The clinic was always busy and he can't even close on weekends. He loved animals so much that he even extended his clinic to become a shelter for abandoned animals. Maybe it's because of his looks that some of the clients visit everyday and volunteer to help him manage the abandoned animals.
Heeseung leave the clinic before eight. He will then get take-outs for dinner because he was already too tired to cook. He will take a short bath, heat the food and wait for Jake to arrive. That is, if the younger boy can make it home. Sometimes, Jake was too busy that he stay in his office for days.
After the food was heated, Heeseung heard Jake's car entering the garage. Just as then, the dog that was sleeping on the door immediately woke up and ran outside to greet his owner.
Heeseung prepared the table for them while he listen to Jake baby-talking Layla. The dog received kisses first before him. Heeseung sighs, he's totally used to Jake not being solely his, even the dog shares a bigger spot in Jake's heart.
It didn't take a while before Jake appears on the kitchen, he went to hug the older boy first. He looked too worn out and tired, making Heeseung feel worried.
“How's your day?” Heeseung asked, hugging the younger boy back.
The hug usually last for not more than a minute. But Jake still didn't let go, so Heeseung hugged the younger boy tighter.
“Bad day at work?” He asked.
“No,” Jake said. “But I'm going on a business trip next month, and I'll miss a lot of occasions.”
Heeseung only hummed.
“I'll be away for eight weeks, you'd be alone for eight weeks,” Jake continued.
Heeseung counted on his mind, realizing that Jake will indeed miss a lot of occasions. Riki's birthday, Sunghoon's birthday and graduation too. But among else, Jake will miss celebrating his own birthday too.
