“Sunoo, come to the grandstand!”
“Sunoo, Riki is waiting for you in the grandstand.”
Sunoo hugged himself as he walked alone into the pathway leading to the grandstand. Students have been telling him to come to the grandstand after his last class ends. Apparently, Riki was waiting for him there.
Sunoo might or might not have ignored the student and went straight to the dorms. He was sure the first snowfall was coming the next few days, judging by the cold weather. He wasn't even sure if Riki is indeed in the grandstand or it's just a bait, his boyfriend hasn't been replying to his messages since the morning.
It's already dark outside when Jungwon showed him a picture of Riki sitting alone in the grandstand. Sunoo felt bad, the younger boy must be cold waiting for him.
He arrived in the grandstand after a little while. Up until now, he was amazed how the grandstand had changed. From its boring white paint vandalized with markers, it now looked clean and new with its pink paint. There were no more signs of markers every—
“Yah,” Sunoo called the younger who was busy writing something on the newly painted bleacher.
The younger boy ignored him, so Sunoo walked near his obviously sulking boyfriend. Riki was drawing something, a figure of two men standing in an open space while being showered by snow.
“You painted all these only to vandalize it again?” Sunoo asked.
“I was so bored waiting for you,” Riki said.
He put his name and signature at the end of the art and closed the marker with its cap before he looked up and met Sunoo's eyes.
“Do you like its new look?” Riki asked as he stood up.
“You still didn't tell me why you began painting this whole place to this color. Was this a punishment? What university rule did you even break this time?” Sunoo asked.
“At least praise me for my hard work first?” Riki said, pouting.
“Not until I know the reason,” Sunoo shrugged. “I can't be praising you for receiving a punishment.”
Sunoo stepped up to the highest part of the bleacher, eyeing every corner on the grandstand. What caught his eyes the most was the cloth hanging on the corner wall hiding something from beneath it.
He sat on the final step and watched as Riki followed him.
“What are we even doing here? It's cold,” Sunoo asked, still hugging himself.
Riki sat beside him.
“Think of what I felt while waiting for you here,” Riki said.
“Sorry,” Sunoo said. “So, what are we doing here?”
Riki hugged the older boy, trying to shield him from the blowing cold wind.
“Nothing,” Riki said, placing his head over Sunoo's shoulder. “I'm just trying to bring back your image of romantic dates in university grandstand. Don't you like it?”
Sunoo leans himself completely against his boyfriend's chest, enjoying the warmth coming from Riki's breath.
“Why the grandstand, of all places?” Sunoo asked.
“I can't make the library romantic, I almost gave up re-painting this whole place,” Riki said. “And speaking of all places, we'll try it once the class officially ends.”
