Belle sat in the back of a truck tapping her rings against the screen of her phone looking up at the stars, Pope was standing with the mechanic trying to figure out and fix Heyward's truck, Kiara was sitting with Belle in silence as JJ was standing with Pope listening to what was going on with the truck.
"B?" Kiara asked, Belle lifted her head looking at Kiara sitting up.
"yeah?"
"are you okay?"
Belle slowly nodded setting her phone aside, "there's just a lot going on you know. finding out that John B and Sarah are okay and my parents coming back it's a lot to take in."
"i get it." she nodded, "is everything okay with them?"
"i think so? i don't really know how to process it all with them being back all of a sudden." Belle explained to her best friend, "what about you? what about your parents."
Kiara shrugged, "i don't wanna go to boarding school because i'm a Pogue. like they think that will change." she said.
"they can't change who you are, Kie. you're a Pogue for a reason and you always will be." Belle said, "look, we have our shit sometimes. but i'll always be there for you, you know that? always."
Kiara sent Bella a small smile as JJ walked over to the girls standing behind Belle, "middle of nowhere. dude's in heaven right now. "gotta know the calibration point before you do anything with the intake valve, JJ. do you the-" hey. you alright?"
"my mom is so worried that i'm gonna be a Pogue that she's willing to send me to boarding school." Kiara told JJ.
"well, i guess that's what you get for hanging with the wrong crowd, Kie." JJ said to her resting his arms on the back of the truck taking a sip from his flask.
"i mean, i'm not gonna go. it's too late anyway. i already am who i am."
"it ain't all that bad. just look at that guy over there. he would do anything for us. that's a Pogue if i've ever seen one. bone-deep. JJ pointed to Pope who was working on the truck, Kiara turned back to the two with a small smile on her face, "same with my girl over here. she'd do anything for us."
it's true. Belle would do anything for her family. she didn't care if she got in trouble with her brother or now her parents. she'd do anything for the Pogues.
Bella looked at him and smiled placing a kiss on his shoulder, "that's just one man's opinion, though." JJ raised his flask taking another sip.
