The water engulfed you, and you felt a sharp sting of pain envelop your body.
Your nerves were on fire, your heart racing incredibly fast.
Water flooded your throat, but you could barely feel it.
You were starting to see black spots.
Your eyes were fluttering...
Fluttering shut...
Dark....
But no pain....
Darkness....
GASP!
Strong arms lifted you out of the water, cupping your face with one hand while the other felt for a pulse.
But who was the mysterious person? You couldn't tell.
You could feel sand under your arms and legs, tickling your toes. But the feeling was faint.
"Come on.... Stay with me...." You heard a voice whimper out.
"ONE... TWO... THREE...!"
Strong hands pressed into your chest, attempting to restart your heart.
You only wheezed out, barely any oxygen at all entering your lungs.
"FIFTEEN... SIXTEEN... SEVENTEEN....!"
The pressure on your chest was getting weaker, as was the voice of whoever was administering CPR.
"TWENTY-EIGHT! TWENTY-NINE! THIRTY!"
Soft lips pressed against yours as two fingers closed your nose to make an effective air-tight seal.
You could feel air being forced into your lungs, your head tilted at an angle so the airway was fully open.
"COME ON Y/N!"
"GET UP!"
"PLEASE WAKE UP!"
Voices were yelling but you could barely make them out.
The only thing keeping you in this world was the constant pressure on your chest.

Whoever was doing CPR was clearly exhausted, and you felt yourself becoming exhausted too.
Maybe falling asleep... wouldn't be.... So bad?
