The sun felt warm and sunny, the world around me hazy yet so vivid as the black haired boy in front of me.

"Hey! How are you so fast for a kid who just lays around and eats?!"

"Who do you think your talking to? I can anything" he replied back with a snarky answer but he did slow down so he can grab my hand

"What do you think your doing?"

"Helping you, Stupid"

"I'm not stupid! You idiot!" I yelled back my own objection but he didn't seem fazed the least bit if anything he seemed more amused

"Haha! you really are strange princess" he laughed as we continued to walk in the garden hand in hand with him leading the way but we both kept on laughing as it seemed like there was no worries in the world

"Not as strange as you, Lucas..."

"Haha!!"

Soon the sound of laughter in my ears died down as I opened my eyes and I was still in my crib but for some reason I still felt tired

'I miss Lucas...' that was the first time such a dream happened and made me realized how much I missed my friend... my only friend

"Good morning little Athanasia" the voice of a chipper male was heard throughout the room the silk white curtains were pulled open to allow more sunlight into the room which subsequently blinded me temporarily.

'Gahh!!! My eyes! Babies eyes are sensitive you know?!' As I was trying to recover from the pain I felt in my eyes I felt a large warm hand on my head.

"I admit I do not know much about babies or children as a matter of fact probably because I never had the chance to be a kid" when Enkidu said this with a sad look in his eyes my heart just ached at the sight of this

'Wahh! Don't be sad Enkidu your the only good person here in this place! Better than Gilgamesh!' I put my small, cubby baby hands on his hand that rested on my head

"Aww are you trying to cheer me up? That's sweet of you but I'm alright you should more focused on yourself with a father like Gilgamesh" Even though his comfort was subtle it was still sweet, plus he wasn't wrong...

"Hmmm... I have an idea how about I take you out for the day? I bet you haven't left this room since the moment you came in it" As Enkidu said this he picked me up and gently held me in his arms as to not hurt me

'Yesss! I finally get to leave this place! And get a scope of the city!'

————————————————————————

'...Okay... not what I wanted but at least I'm out of that room' I mentally cried because Enkidu didn't take me to the city but rather the palace garden but it was quite beautiful.

"I do love being in the gardens it almost feels like I'm back in the woods where there was beauty in everything even the more unsightly things"

'In the woods? Did Enkidu use the live in the woods before coming here?' I mentally pondered as I soon saw a shadow casting itself over Enkidu face

"But here people only want to see the beautiful things and what isn't is left in the shadows" when Enkidu said this his head turned towards the bushes where there two people but their feet were shackled and their arms were branded with a few words I couldn't understand

"...slaves..." he said this with distaste like the idea of people being enslaved by another was horrible and it was...

'Your joking right...? Slaves exist in this time...? I mean yea I knew I was far back in the past but I didn't know I was this far back...'I thought with a combination of horror and guilt

'Why do I feel guilty? It's not like I did anything... so why do I feel responsible?'

"You don't like this either do you Athanasia?" Enkidu turned to me with a sad smile he looked as if he was sorry for showing me such a sight—

"So the two of you wandered here..." suddenly a deep male voice ranged through the air and it made the nearby slaves scamper to run away quickly and quietly.

"Ah Gil did you come here to see the gardens too or did you come looking for us?" Enkidu slightly teased with a hint of amusement

"Bold, but also correct on the latter, it is strange to see that the both of out the room and into the garden" Gilgamesh said as he looked the both of us but for some strange reason he looked at me

"I see you've become quite the nanny, Enkidu"

"Well yes, until you decide that you'll properly take care of little Athanasia, it is up to me to fill that role Gil" they both had a scary smile on their faces

'Am I gonna die? Again? Because I don't want too...' but within that thought they both started laughing as if they didn't look like that they were about to kill each other.

"Ah look at that Gil the sun is setting..."

"So it is..."As the pair looked in the direction the sun setting on the west and honestly it made moment feel surreal and calm

'I guess I have a new family and a new home for now at least...'
