Chapter 12: I Don't Understand

Rui was drawing some blueprints for his newest invention when his phone suddenly started ringing.
It was Emu.
"Hello?"

Rui Pov

Before I knew it I was running.
The cold wind was tearing my face apart but I didn't care.
On my way I ran into Nene who also got a call from Emu.
We ran to the Tenma household at record pace.
When we finally got there the door was unlocked so we let ourselves in.

Nene Pov

I felt like my legs were going to break off but that wasn't my concern right now.
Earlier I got a call from Emu saying that something happened and we need to go to Tsukasa's house asap.
I looked around and saw Emu,Saki,Ichika,Honami,Shiho,Shizuku,Akito,Toya,and the parents of Saki and Tsukasa.
I started getting a bad feeling.
Saki's eyes were red from crying and Emu wasn't looking as bright as usual.

Emu Pov

"Rui!Nene!"-E
"Emu what's the meaning of this? And where's Tsukasa?"-R
"If this is his house he should be here..."-N
"I-I don't know."-E
"Emu what do you mean?"-R

I couldn't help it.
I started crying.
"I don't know! I was told that something happened to Tsukasa and to call you guys!"-E
I could feel the salty water in my mouth.
Then I felt someone hug me.
It was Nene.
"I think everyone is here now so I'll start..."-Sa

No Pov

The atmosphere was tense.
"The reason why I got all of you to come was because... something happened to Tsukasa..."
Everyone in the room was clearly surprised.
Saki and her parents were the only ones who knew what happened and she didn't want to leave everyone in the dark.
"Earlier today he-my brother- Tsukasa he..."
There were tears streaming down her face as she talked.
"He jumped off a bridge, and died almost immediately."

Rui Pov

My head was spinning.
Tsukasa? The world future star? Committed suicide?
This doesn't make sense.
Why?
I don't understand...

No Pov

"He left letters for all of you... he also left a suicide note."-S

Saki's hands were shaking as she held the letter up to read.
Ichika,Shiho and Honami offered to read it but Saki declined.

"If you are reading this,then I have already bid this world farewell.
Please don't blame yourselves or anyone else for my death.
This was my choice.
I really did try to deal with this pain.
I hated having to cover my ears when trying to sleep. But the voices still seeped in.
I hated being made fun of and treated like a joke.
I hated being useless.
But the thing I hated the most was myself.
I just couldn't handle it anymore.
I needed a release.
While hospitalized I realized how much I wasn't needed. I'm sure all of you will be fine without me.
This world has no need for me.
Please don't be sad.
Just keep smiling."

The room was filled with crying and light sobs.
