"Y/N! Seungmin's waiting in the car for you!" Chan yelled down the corridor to Y/N who was in the bathroom. She rushed out after washing her hands and snatched up her shoulder bag.
"Bye Chan-hyung!" she yelled and Chan yelled bye after her, helping Felix master the art of making pancakes. As she closed the front door, Y/N bit her lip sharply to stop her thinking that this might be the last time she saw him or the other members.
"Y/N! Let's go!" Seungmin stuck his head out of the car window.
"Coming!" she called and went inside the glossy black Mercedes waiting with her patient boyfriend inside. They gazed at each other lovingly and quickly touched lips before driving off to the coffee shop. The whole ride Seungmin's hand was covering Y/N's, but for once it didn't give her comfort, much like their quick kiss hadn't made her happy, but more upset.
As soon as they got out of the car, around 5 people came up asking for Seungmin's autograph, and another 20 or so in that coffee shop. The coffee shop owners kindly showed Seungmin and Y/N to a more secluded space, away from fans as Seungmin was a regular customer there. As Seungmin gave the order (two hot chocolates, it was too cold for iced coffee), Y/N scanned his face. She would never forget, as long as she lived, how beautiful his face was and how lucky she was to have such a successful partner, although it might be better to forget. She knew she had to do what she had to do. After the waitress disappeared, Seungmin grabbed Y/N's hand and started drawing patterns on it with his finger.
"Whats bothering you?" Seungmin had a puppy's sixth sense.
"Its just- I- doesn't matter." Y/N mumbled and Seungmin moved his face closer so hers.
"What doesn't matter?"
"You'll know later."
"Can I help with it?"
"I don't think you can, Seungmin." and Seungmin didn't push it any further. That was what she liked about him. When she said she didn't want to talk about it, they didn't talk about it. Seungmin kept drawing patterns on Y/N's hand, studying the most beautiful girl in the world through his eyes. What was troubling her?
Usually, Seungmin drawing patterns on Y/N's hand calmed her down, but it made her even more upset this time. She looked at Seungmin and closed her fingers around his hand and he clasped it, interlocking his fingers with hers and leaning forwards so they shared their last kiss, though Seungmin didn't know it. Y/N started crying and Seungmin stopped kissing her at once, instead holding her chin in his hands.
"Y/N, what's wrong?"
"Seungmin, I love you, you know that right?"
"Yes..."
"Which is why I need to break up with you now. I'm sorry Seungmin, but with your schedules being so hectic and so many fans we don't get time together, it's unavoidable. I'm so sorry, I'll never stop loving you just remember, I'll be waiting after your schedules calmed down a bit but I just don't think we should go on like this now. I'll find you again, I promise. I'm so sorry Seungmin."
Seungmin stayed silent during this whole thing and determinately kept his face free of tears.
"You mean, we need to stop going out? I can't be your boyfriend anymore?"
"No, I can't be your girlfriend. I'm so so-"
"Why are you sorry Y/N? It's ok. If you'll never stop loving me, that's all I need, as it's the same with me. I will find you afterwards, ok?" Seungmin said and leaned forwards for one last kiss, but Y/N, not being able to take it anymore just whispered, "I'll never forget you." and ran out, leaving Seungmin standing in the secluded space at his favourite coffee shop, alone like a lost puppy.He drove home in a state of shock. Instinctively, he put his hand where Y/N's hand would've been but not feeling it there made him chew his lip to stop the floodgates from opening. Chan was sitting on a chair with a book outside.
"Seungmin! Your back! That was fast, your dates with Y/N usually go for 3 hours, but its only been 45 minutes. Seungmin? What happened?" Chan asked walking over to Seungmin who was standing in front of the car with his head down. Chan lifted his head back up to see tears flowing down his face, not stopping at all.
"She- She broke up with me. She broke up with me Chan." he whispered and Chan enveloped his son in a hug, whispering, ''it's ok Seungmin, it's alright."
~Time Skip~
Seungmin had told the other members and they were all spending time with him, but Y/N's words lingered in his head. "I'll never stop loving you. I'll find you again, I promise." Seungmin knew he needed Chan.
"Chan-hyung."
"Yeah?"
"I need you to help me write a song. A single for me please."
~Time Skip~
Y/N was sitting in her living room, looking through her camera roll with her airpods in, stopping and favoriting every photo of her and Seungmin, so she didn't forget him indeed.
She was listening to songs on YouTube as she forgot her Spotify login when she stopped in the middle of favouriting a picture of Seungmin kissing her forehead. It was Seungmin's voice.
Nobody else, just Seungmin. She listened to the lyrics. Every now and then, phrases like 'I won't stop loving you,' and 'I'll find you when I'm ready' stuck out at her. She felt tears sliding down her cheeks and she looked at the song name. "기다릴게" which when translated to english means "I'll be waiting."
