In the dimly lit, luxurious hallway, Sasuke's measured steps echoed on the red carpet. Each footfall, neither too fast nor too slow, reverberated through the atmosphere.
CLACK*
At the end of the hallway loomed the entrance to a grand room, designed specifically for hosting international-level conferences.
DOOMM!
As Sasuke pushed open the heavy door, its resounding sound filled the room, announcing his arrival.
Sasuke paused, surveying the room that teemed with influential figures. The magical energy emanating from each person caused the air to crackle with anticipation. It felt akin to stepping into a room filled with untamed beasts.
"These are the strongest hunters from every country in the world..."
The world's finest Guild Leaders had congregated for this momentous occasion. The palpable atmosphere and the aura of tension they exuded would unnerve even an A-rank hunter.
But for Sasuke, it was merely another day. His countenance remained calm, almost detached. His dual-colored, radiant eyes swept across the dimly lit room, as if assessing every detail and contemplating if it was worth his precious time.
"I can't sense his presence, but just looking at him gives me goosebumps..."
"His eyes seem to say, 'if you come closer and cross paths with me... you're screwed!'"
"Damn... he's even cooler and more handsome than my husband~ I wonder if his 'weapon' matches his allure..."
Sasuke descended to the lower level of the room and made his way to the seat designated for him by the conference committee. He noticed a tall, blonde-haired man seated beside him.
"Long time no see, Mr. Sasuke!" boomed a loud voice, oblivious to the tense ambiance of the room.
"Thomas? It has indeed been a while since our encounter in L.A.," Sasuke replied casually, as though conversing with an old friend, disregarding formalities.
"HA HA! By the way, what an entrance you made earlier! Let's put our conversation on hold for now; the event is about to commence..."
"We still have about fifteen minutes, but I didn't expect everyone to have gathered so early," Sasuke noted, acknowledging that he was one of the last attendees to arrive.
"Don't worry... besides, I can see many people eager to meet you. Just take a look at the irritated expression on Japan's representative." Thomas cast a glance at the seat of Goto Ryuji, the guild master of the Draw Sword Guild and the Japanese representative.
"--Hmmph?" Following Thomas's gaze, Sasuke noticed Goto Ryuji, glaring at him with a threatening look from his seat, quite distant from the two strongest hunters in the United States.
"Esteemed guests, without further ado, let us commence today's program of events—"
As the conference host's voice resonated through the room, Sasuke's interest in the Japanese representative waned.
'Traitorous bastard!' Goto cursed Sasuke's indifference. He seethed with anger, unable to bear Sasuke's dismissive gaze, which felt as if it could kill with a mere glance.
The conference proceeded with presentations from scientists researching gates and magical energy, followed by explanations from the presidents of the Hunter Associations of England and the United States, discussing the new variant of the Red Gate. Eminent experts delivered their insights, and a lengthy Q&A session ensued, lasting approximately two hours. Finally, the conference drew to a close.
