xi: actually doing the project

The next night, Cecilia was home alone. She had her 6pm online class and while she was listening to her professor go on and on about his impulsive thoughts, she was having her attention focused on something else: the project that she was supposed to do.

Cecilia kind of regreted not getting anything done with Joesph, but she was able to snag the chance to be with him 1 on 1, which was something that she never did before.

"So, when I was about 21, I was the main head of the front desk and you know me, I hate sitting still."

Cecilia was doing calculations in the background and occasionally sipping on some tazo green tea.

As she took apart each calculation bit, it started to become quite easy for her. Find the calculation, translate it into different measurements, and place them.

"My wife and I actually went to this 5 star high class international cuisine eatery on our yearly getaway and people were raving about the sushi. We decided to try it and for about 6 pieces, it was $400 for the both of us. And we're thinking, this has to be made by the finest chefs with rare and exotic fish that have names such as "the lympthisis or rocks bently" that are found in the deepest parts of the arabian sea or right off the coast of Svalbard. Nope. Not even close."

"That must've been a letdown." A guy named Smiley responded back.

"If that happened to me, I would never go there again." His friend Wizzy had a disappointed tone.

"Well, we knew the staff because we go there every year and they know us. From time to time, they drop a few secrets. Such as, just because a place specilizes in a certain cuisine, doesn't mean that the chefs are from there. The people making the sushi were actually.... guess."

"Chinese!"

"Puerto Rican!"

"Russian!"

The professor paused for a second.

"Mexican."

Everybody started to laugh.

"Imagine that, mexican people making sushi! It was the most ridiculous redonkulous thing that I have ever heard in my 36 years of existing! My wife and I still laugh about it to this day because who would think that and that would be together? It makes no sense at all!!"

Cecilia really used the lecture as her background music as she was still smashing in calculations from each of the problems. Once she had gotten the hang of it, it turned into clockwork for her.

It took her an hour of the lecture to finally finish the project. She made sure to take the pictures of the work and sent it to Joesph.

She kept her focus on the lecture for the rest of the class, but was constantly thinking about Joesph in the meantime.

In the meantime, she was more present in the class. Right now, they were talking about experiences that they had at any food/beverage/snack stand, etc.

"To be honest, there was this one place that I went to, in my hometown actually that once gave me the wrong order and they realized almost right after we left. So, we thought we were being chased by an employee on foot, but they sprinted with the correct order. My mom felt so bad that she gave her a $15 tip for doing that." Sadie replied.

"And doing the right thing is key in this industry, because everything relies on good reviews. One small mistake and you could be losing thousands of dollars and customers as well. This day and age, people don't care if their place goes into shambles, because they don't want to do the right thing, and that is truly a disappointment." The professor responded back.

Her online professor was an interesting one. His name was Professor Landon and he was a 30 something year old guy that works in multiple indutries, almost like Professor Reuben except not as intense. The first day of class, he sent an email being so excited to teach the class only for his wife to go into labor! He will shoot down 2 drinks at the same time during lectures as well.

That class was her favorite because it was an easy class and the lecture was smooth to follow too.

As the class went on, it started to slow down. Now that Cecilia didn't really have too much to do, she just started going into her own world. It's not a bad thing, but she pretty much read through all of the notes that she needed to for her class.

Finally, the class ended and Cecilia couldn't help but yawn as soon as she turned her laptop off. She grabbed her glass that was now empty and went to the kitchen sink to wash it off.

Moving to the bathroom next to wash her face and brush her teeth, she was already in her pjs since like 5pm. It was nearing 9pm, and she was about to head to bed.

When she got to her room, she jumped under the covers and tucked herself in.

It was a little hard trying to sleep at night, you know just sometimes you can't get yourself to sleep all the time.

She heard her phone buzz under the covers and decided to check it out of curiosity.

"Hey, I'm SUPER SORRY that I haven't responded in a bit, I finally was able to get a break at my job. But, thank you so much for doing it. You're a lifesaver I APPRECIATE IT!"

Cecelia giggled, she was not used to Joseph being super excited in a text, let alone how he acted in person too.

It made her smile and she felt her heart light up with joy and the fluttering feelings of love. This all felt so surreal to her.

She yawned and then put her phone down for the night, and that was when the sleep speed started to work on her, she was drifting into a deep slumber.
