Chapter Six: Trexy

"And I will show to you that I don't need friends in my life." Madiin kong asik sa kanya bago siya tinalikuran.

What's the essence of friendship? I always read that in books, it looks and feels nice. I was put into a point somewhere when I read one that I hoped I can have a friend other than Chamber. But in the real world, it's hard to find genuine people. They're too smart to rely on friends. That's what I believed from a book I read.

My mother always taught me that being independent has a greater advantage than those who have friends to lean on. Being independent has no weakness. Being independent means... Freedom. You have the freedom to be who you are because no one dictates to you and no one will criticize you.

Imbes na maligo sa pool ay umalis nalang ako doon. Nawala na ang mood ko para roon dahil sa pinag-usapan namin ni sir Johannes. I sometimes hate him.

I don't care how he did it, but surely, he won't side with me. Hindi siya maniniwala sa akin dahil feeling siguro niya wala akong experience at mangmang sa mundo. Oo, wala akong experience sa maraming bagay. Pero wala siyang karapatan para pangunahan ako at sabihing ako pa ang magbaba ng pride sa aming dalawa ng babaeng 'yon.

I know he didn't really say that to me... But that's what I feel when he said those words to me.

Bumuga ako ng hangin at napagdesisyonang bumalik nalang sa kwarto. Nakapaghiram naman ako ng libro sa library kanina kaya magbabasa nalang ako roon hanggang sa magtatanghalian.

But thinking I would be in the same place as sir Johannes again, I rolled my eyes in irritation.

I was munching my steak when I feel presences in front of me. Nag-angat ako ng tingin at bumungad sa akin si sir Nathan kasama... Wait, that girl is familiar!

Pero ang bilis naman yata humaba ng buhok niya? And where did she put her smug face earlier? Bakit parang ibang-iba siya?

"Would you mind us joining your lunch?" Sa mababang boses na tanong ni sir Nathan, nakatingin sa kasama kong matandang lalaki sa cafeteria.

"Oh! Yes, yes! You can join us, of course!" Sir Johannes quickly responded. My eyes snapped at him. Bumukas ang bibig ko at akmang pagsasabihan siya pero pinigilan ko ang sarili.

Umupo sa upuang katabi ni sir Johannes si sir Nathan habang iyong babaeng kasama niya ay umupo sa harapan ko. Trexy looks different. Her hair is longer, probably just the same length as my hair, and it's all black. Gone the blond highlights. Nakasuot siya ng pink sleeveless turtle neck at tinuck-in sa kanyang white pants. She dresses maturely this time.

H-How?

"Finally, our jewels have met," Bigkas ni sir Nathan na nagpagulat sa akin. She's sir Nathan's jewel? Well, I don't even know what jewel they are talking about. "Go on, introduce yourself, Trisha." Pinatong niya ang kamay sa balikat ng babaeng katabi niya.

Trisha?! 

Nanlalaki ang mga matang tinignan ko ang babaeng kaharap ko.

"Based on the looks you are giving me, you probably met my twin sister." Saad ng babae sa akin, malambing ang boses.

Twin sister?!

Sir Johannes chuckled, a piece of chicken in his hands. "Where is Trexy, Trish? Hiding again?"

Trex—The girl named Trisha smiled gently and look at sir Johannes. "After she saw me mourning for the death of our parents, she went outside the cabin. I never saw her again. And that was three days ago." Panandaliang umikot ang kanyang tingin sa paligid bago binalik kay sir Johannes ang mga mata.
