Part 8. Hide To Survive.

SNOW FIELDS.

"Damn... that hurt..." Vaggie said as she held her arm wound as she leaned against a tree. "You ok, Vag?" Charlie asked. "I'm fine, Charlie. Just cut a bit is all." Vaggie said as she held her arm.

"How are you?" She asked her as she eyed Charlies eye scratch. "I'm fine, Vag. Just a little a scratch. So. You gonna explain it?..." Charlie asked with worried eyes. "Explain what?" Vaggie asked. "That." Charlie said as she point at the golden blood.

"Oh. Oh, God, I..." Vaggie gasped. She had kept her past a secret from everyone. Charlie included. But now it was coming undone by a thread.

"Charlie, I swear to you, I'll explain this all I can later. I promise. But we need to move. Now. Ok?" Vaggie pleaded.

"Ok, Vaggie... What are you thinking?" Charlie asked as she and Vaggie continued through the Snow Fields, snowy trees around them hiding them from any search choppers.

"We're going find a place to hide, make sure you're safe, then we'll go find Angel and everyone else." Vaggie said as she stood to her feet. "What about there?" Charlie asked as she pointed at an abandoned mall in Ice City.

FROZEN FOREST.

"They looked human?" Shade asked over comms while Phantom was driving past the snow trees.

"Only a little. The blonde woman the most. The one with the spear, not as much." Phantom said as he continued driving through the snow. "Well, they had to look human enough. Nitro won't stop talking about their curves." Shade sighed out.

"Gold rank, Big Dawg! Those girls are gold rank!!!" Nitro yelled in the background of the comms.

"Idiot..." Phantom sighed. "Yeah. Anyway, what are you thinking?" She asked. "I'll do my best to capture them." He said as he eyed Charlie and Vaggie's snow tracks and blood trails in the fields as his car burned through them. "But if I have to... I will kill them both."

ICE CITY MALL.

"I guess we can stay here for now. Patch ourselves up, then I'll go find everyone else." Vaggie said as they walked into the mall center. "Where do you think we'd find medical supplies here?" Charlie asked as they looked around the abandoned stores of the mall.

"Let's split up. We'll find some supplies in back rooms or some hallways. Are you sure you're ok, Hun?" Vaggie asked as she saw that Charlie was shaking slightly, her eyes a little off. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine, Vag. Let's just hurry and find supplies." Charlie said as she and Vaggie left off separate directions of the hallways to find medical gear.

Charlie was doing her best to stay strong. She felt off and messed up. Any type of demon could die if there was something strong enough. And this while situation was putting it to the test.

She used most of her power on Phantom. And when she saw him rise from the ashes, he didn't even have a single scratch on his armor. And now, Her power needs time to charge. Kinda like a battery. And now she's running on empty. She is naturally stronger than Alastor, maybe. But that portal drained her. She was vulnerable. Which means her friends were vulnerable.

"I wonder what happened to this place. And who was that guy?" She thought to herself as she walked the hallways as she walked past a door way after hearing a noise and saw what looked like a small figure trying to hide.

"Uh, hello? Is anyone there?" Charlie asked nervously as she moved to the doorway, her hands gently touching the handles as another noise happened deeper in the store.

"Hello?...." she asked as she moved near store shelves. "Hello? I don't mean any harm. You can come out." She said as she became nervous about the dark room, the feeling of being watched was all around her. "Hello?-" "HI!!!!!" Said a little voice that made Charlie hop in place frantically from being startled as she looked around for the voice's owner. "Hi?...." she asked. "Down here!" The little voice said again in front of Charlie.

"Oh! Oh, Hi!" Charlie said as she saw a little blonde haired, blue eyed boy in black clothing. "What are you doing here alone, kid?" She asked as she knelt down to him, still ignoring the pain in her right leg.

"I'm looking for a gift for my Uncle. My Dad says he's not feeling good after my Aunt died." He said kindly, a smile taking Charlie's face from the boy's innocent intentions. "You're really brave to go all this way for your Uncle. But you really shouldn't be out here alone. It's just not safe." Charlie said.

"I know, that's what my sister said! But my Uncle teaches me to be brave! He says Fear Equals The Grave! And I'm brave just like him and my Dad!" The boy said as she giggled a little at the boy. This was a nice kid. "Well.... why don't you stay with me and my friend for now? Just till we find your family, ok?" She asked. "Well.... ok!" The boy said as he decided to stay with Charlie for now.

"There." Vaggie said as she put medical supplies down on the table next to her spear. "Hey, Vaggie!" Charlie said from the hallway as Vaggie looked up at her. "Hey, Charlie. Found some med supplies for us." She said as she grabbed bandages from the supply box.

"Yeah, and, uh... I've found a new friend!" She said as Vaggie looked up at her confused. "Who could you have possibly found out here?" She asked as she saw a little boy behind Charlie's leg with a nervous look.

"Hi..." the boy said shyly. "Uh... hi! Are you ok?" Vaggie asked as she moved closer to the boy and knelt down as Charlie moved to the side so Vaggie could see him better. "I'm ok. I like your eyepatch." The boy said, a little smile coming from Vaggie in return.

"I think we need to keep him with us until we can find his family." Charlie said as Vaggie looked at the kid again. "What's your name, kid?" Vaggie asked him with a kind smile. "My name is Danny. Danny Reign."

ICE CITY MALL ENTRANCE.

"So you're not taking your sword? Why?" Shade asked over comms as Phantom imbedded in blade into the snowy ground. "No. My abilities for me and my sword are like batteries. Need charge time. Besides, I don't like using them anyway. I don't want some crutch." He said as he went to the doors of the abandoned mall. "Suit yourself. Scans show three life signatures inside. Have fun." Shade said as Phantom kicked the doors wide open, ice breaking off the doors.

INSIDE THE ICE MALL.

"What was that?" Danny asked as Charlie and Vaggie finished bandaging Vaggies arm and cleaning the blood off Charlie's right eye. "Charlie. Someone's here. Danny, hide. Now!" Vaggie said as Danny ran behind a box in a nearby hallway. "Who do you think it is this time?" Charlie asked as she and Vaggie looked around for the intruder. "Best guess. The one with the sword. The other two seemed like idiots." Vaggie said as she readied her spear.

"Blonde! Spear!" Said Phantom from the darkness of the shadows. "What do you want!?" Vaggie yelled into the darkness. "To end this! I'm not Nitro! I'll make you both this offer one last time, then that's it! Surrender..... Or Die!" Phantom said with hate as Charlie and Vaggie looked at each other.

"Never!" Vaggie said as she prepared herself for a fight. "As you wish, Spear. This might hurt a bit..." Phantom said as a black dart flew into Vaggies neck, an electrical current shocking her nervous system as she dropped to the ground unconscious.

"Vaggie!" Charlie said in a panic. "Relax, Blonde. She's not dead." Phantom said as he dropped into the room. "Not yet." He said as he moved in near blinding speeds and knocked Charlie to the ground in seconds.

"Please, I didn't- we didn't-" Charlie was saying as Phantom put a sidearm to her forehead. "It's over." He said as he began to pull back the trigger.

"Stop!" Danny said as he ran in front of the gun. "Danny? What are you doing here!?" Phantom demand as he raised his gun up in the air. "I can answer that later, just please don't hurt her, Uncle Justin!" Danny said as Charlie looked at Phantom with confusion. He wasn't exactly what she thought when Danny talked about an uncle.

"She's really nice! Please don't hurt her!" Danny pleaded. "Danny, you don't even know what SHE IS!" Phantom said. "I know enough! Please don't hurt her! For me! Please!" Danny pleaded with tears in his eyes as Phantom looked up at Charlie with fear in hers.

"Danny..." Phantom sighed. "Alright, Kid.... Go to my car. It's at the entrance." Phantom said as he watched Danny leave. "Yes sir, Uncle Justin..." He said as he left.

"You!" Phantom said as he looked at Charlie. "Y-Yes?..." she asked timidly. "I won't do this with the kid around... I'm taking him home. Then I'm coming for both of you." He said as he left for the entrance of the abandoned mall.
