The burning rubble of Price Mansion burned a bright fire under the falling snow. "Are you ok!? Hello!? Wake up!" Charlie screamed. The rubble groaned as the broken, burning beams shifted as they pushed off from the inside. "Justin!" She screamed again. "Jesus, I'm right here..." Phantom groaned as the beam crash landed onto the rubble below. "Are you ok!?" Charlie asked.

"Am I ok? Am I... ok? Well, let's see. I... I got three bullet wounds. I had a mansion blown up and dropped on m-me. And I've... been losing blood. So, Princess, with all things CONSIDERED! Yeah... I'm doing pretty good." Phantom said quietly and sarcastically. "You need to come home! Now!" Charlie ordered. "I'll be fine..." he leaned against a destroyed beam of the house.

"No, you will not! You need medical attention!" Charlie ordered as Phantom stared at the moon with hazy vision. "What I need is... I'm too concussed to make a joke, gimme a minute..." Phantom said as he walked out of the rubble. "Justin! This isn't a joke! Your vitals appeared on the screen when you were injured! You need help!" Charlie said. "Yeah, I know... just... give me a minute..." Phantom asked.

"Find him! Come on now, find him!" A thug's voice shouted out from the night. "Agh, great..." Phantom sighed as he looked up to see a tree in front of the moon. He slowly and weakly unholstered his grapple and fired it at a branch and lifted himself off into the branches. "Find him! Both Phantom and Edge! Heretic's paying us a lot for this!" A thug said as Phantom looked across the burning rubble to see men exit a black van. "Come on, man, we don't see em!" A thug said as the searched the fire and rubble. Phantom tried to keep a steady breath and felt the bullet wounds that Heretic had perfectly fired between the armor plates.

"Heretic. You're a dead man..." Phantom sighed tiredly as he retrieved medical tools from his coat. "I don't normally get shot... but this is the worst... PART OF IT!" Phantom growled as he ripped a bullet from a wound. As Phantom watched his blood drip from the bullet in the moonlight, his owl drone Dagger flew down to his side. "The hell you lookin at?..." Phantom asked Dagger as he flicked the bullet at Dagger's black steel beak.

"Ya know what, how about you make yourself useful... and follow that van..." Phantom pushed Dagger's beak to face the van as the thugs slammed the door shut. Dagger's large red eyes narrowed into the van, marking down every digit on its license plate into his internal systems. "Your order... is to follow... do not engage. Report back when you found where it returns to. It could be the next clue to hunting down Heretic..." Phantom pushed Dagger off the branches as he flew off after the van while he finished ripping each bullet out of his body.

"While he does that, you really need to come back here. Get medical attention... or... something!" Charlie begged as Phantom slowly stood up in the branches. "I can handle medical while on the move..." Phantom groaned as his fighter flew over head and he grappled to the edge of the wing. "Hey... hey, there he is!" A thug spotted him from the flaming rubble. "Take him down!" The thugs ordered as they all opened fire on his ship. Phantom quickly leapt into cockpit. "You guys be quiet..." Phantom growled as the red cockpit shut over him as he walked to the back his fighter. He made it to the back of his ship and opened a black medical box on the wall. "Um. What about the ARMED THUGS shooting at you?" Charlie asked as Phantom dug through medical gear. "They're just making themselves... easier to find..." Phantom said with a smile as he crashed into a seat with uneasy breath.

"Take it down!" A thug shouted as they continued to fire at his ship, even if the bullets didn't leave a scratch. "Man, this is ridiculous! We need stronger fire power!" Another thug said. "Yeah, I know. I think we..." a thug stopped as he heard rumbling behind him. "Uh... boys?" He asked as they all stopped, and looked into the woods behind them. "What? What is it?" A thug asked. "Th...That..." he pointed at the darkness of the trees. "Weapons up!" A thug ordered as they aimed at the woods. "Wait... is that? Oh, God..." a thug said without breath as a dozen pairs of red eyes appeared in the woods.

"See? I have everything... handled..." Phantom said as he wiped blood of his armor, right as the thugs screamed under the sounds of wolves howling. "You have an incoming call. It's Knight." Charlie said. "Put it through..." Phantom asked. "Brother, what the hell is going on?" Knight shouted. "Ah, not much... just... diggin bullets out of me. How's your weekend?" Phantom rested his head against the seat. "Really bad now that I know that two of Dark Core leadership are in danger! What's this I hear from the Princess about a mansion blowing up and being dropped on you!?" Knight asked. "Oh, just a wicked party, should've been there..." Phantom said weakly. "WHAT. HAPPENED?" Knight ordered. "It was him... Heretic's back. He's running the show out here..." Phantom said.

"He's back? I... you... look, if Heretic's back, you don't need to be on this. I'll send in Shatter." Knight said. "You won't send in anyone!" Phantom growled. "Brother, I know you miss her, but just because Sarah's gone it doesn't mean you need to die too." Knight said. "Let someone take Diana away from you, then tell me you'll stay put..." Phantom said tiredly. "That doesn't... I... fine, you got me. But you're not doing this alone. Your next mission, you're getting back up." Knight said. "Fine, whatever. What did you mean about two leadership problems?" Phantom asked as he slowly got off the back seat and moved to the pilot seat.

"Nitro. Justin, Rigg's missing." Knight said. "How in God's name do you misplace that loud mouth?..." Phantom painfully crashed into his seat. "He had some incident with a demon, then went out for a smoke. He hasn't been back since. We had patrols, and they found nothing!" Knight said. "Well, I figured that when you said missing..." Phantom weakly pressed the red buttons of his ship's console. "What do we got?" Phantom said as red holograms of all three cities appeared. "We checked all local security footage from across Dark City. Around the same time Nitro went out, a black van was spotted. We tracked it through the city cameras, and found out that it went to an abandoned chemical plant. Myth Chemicals. An old shut down factory. Makes me wonder who's using what's left of it..." Knight said.

"Dagger is trailing another van for me, but I don't have anything from him yet. I'll follow this lead on Nitro. Heretic can wait. For now..." Phantom said as he took the wheel of his ship. "Thank you. And brother? Don't let Heretic turn you into something you're not..." Daniel asked as Phantom's ship blew off into the moonlit sky.

"So. What's your history with Heretic?" Charlie asked. "Heretic has a history with the entire world." Phantom said as he flew through the night snow. "Meaning?" Charlie asked. "Alright, fine... I'll tell you a story. Your radio man is a deal maker. Heretic... is my own radio demon..."

Kazarith. That's his real name. You know the story of Jesus and his Twelve Disciples? He... was the secret thirteenth.

After Lucifer lost his war against Micheal, he was forced to never wage war against God's creation on Earth. So Lucifer found Kazarith.

Kazarith grew jealous of all the legendary displays of power Jesus could preform. Turning water to wine, walking on water. He wanted... power. He thought he deserved it. So Lucifer approached him with... a deal.

All he had to do... was kill the son of God. So Kazarith convinced Judas to turn against him. Then the crucifix came. After that act, Lucifer shook hands with Kazarith. And promised him a place at his side when he eventually tore down Heaven and God.

He gave Kazarith power, money, and a role in his order. He made him immortal. And gave him a name for his position. Heretic. And all he had to do was wage chaos across Earth, and ravage God's creation for Lucifer.

Heretic is responsible for every war the planet has ever seen. World War 1, 2, Vietnam, Iraq. It was Heretic. But those final wars failed, and Lucifer believed that Heretic was a failure. After Heretic's final failure on World War 3, Lucifer abandoned Heretic in search of a replacement pawn.

Now Heretic wants redemption... revenge against them all.

Charlie's eyes were wide at the story she heard of Kazarith. And the acts of Lucifer in this world. So much different from her father. Charlie's eyes narrowed. "Wait... the one Lucifer picked to replace Heretic as a harbinger of death... who was it?" Charlie asked. Phantom held onto his ship's wheel tightly, a mix of hate, fear, sadness, and regret. And narrowed his eyes on the moon above.

"Me..."
