"Dagger and my hounds found the trail. Perfect. Now, I finally hunt down The Light Core base." Phantom said as his car blazed through the thick snow. "The Light Core, hmm? How... dangerous are they?" Charlie asked on comms. "They're the 'heroes' of our world. And they're in the way of our plans." He said as he pulled his car over in the snow, and leaped out of the cockpit and landed into the snow.

"Ah, how are my boys!?" He smiled as he knelt down to his eight hell hounds and scratched the black fur of their necks. "Has Dagger been keeping you unruly monsters in check?" He asked as Dagger landed onto his left shoulder. "He better. He's supposed to the responsible one." He looked at Dagger on his shoulder. The wolves growled and walked over to a snow pile and started to claw at it.

"Ah, I see. An underground base. And we could never find any entrances because the snowfall covers them, and the tracks. Smart. But I'm smarter..." Phantom laughed as he rubbed the snow off the bronze tunnel lid. "Be careful, ok? I don't want-" "Stop. I'll be fine. You don't need to be concerned about me." He said as he twisted the handle and opened the lid. "I'm just saying." Charlie said as he climbed down the ladder.

"Alright, boys, you can't help down here. Y'all go eat a deer. You've earned it." He petted one of his hounds. The hounds ran off through the snow. Phantom looked at Dagger. "When they're done, resume the other hunt. I still need to find... him." He ordered Dagger. His owl drone gave a metal preen to his gloved finger, then flew after the hell hounds. "Time to find Cutter's body. And maybe find time to snuff out the Light..."

LATER.

"Can I... ask you something?" Charlie asked as he walked his way through a dark tunnel that went own for as long as they could see. "Go ahead." Phantom said. "Star explained it to me. Lucifer cursed you with immortality. Just so no matter how hard you fight for them, you'll eventually out live and watch... your family pass. But. If you do actually die... what happens?" Charlie asked, wanting to know the complexities of his curse.

"Were I to never die, yes. Eventually... I'd watch the others, even the kids... go. But after what I did to Lakar, Lucifer's heir to his throne in this universe, he doesn't exactly like me. If I were to get killed, I'm goin straight to hell. Where he's waiting, just for me..." he explained as he continued through the catacomb. Charlie finally understood. After the murder of Lakar, Lucifer made both life and death hell for him. He lives, he watches his family die. He dies, he suffers for eternity. Now she knew fully. "I'm... sorry to hear that." Charlie said.

"Don't worry about it. It's not important." He said like he wanted to ignore the topic. "What is important is finding Cutter's body." He said. "What about his body specifically are we looking for?" Charlie asked. "If we find his body, I can find what was on him. Like his phone. His phone might be able to tell me where Edge is. Where the assassins can be found." He said as he found a large metal door. "Ok. Light Core, ready or not, I just broke through your fuckin front door..." he cloaked invisible and pushed the door's open and saw a large room of Light Core soldiers in white armor and silver visors. They were scattered around at steel desk and cubicles.

"Punk ass heroes. Let's take a look at what you all found on us." He said. "Uh, be quiet, Justin! They'll hear you!" Charlie screamed on the comms as he shut the doors behind him. "Will you relax! He screamed as loud as he could to panic her. She stumbled in a panic at the console, worried The Light Core soldiers would light him up. He laughed. "My cloaking tech is designed to mute any and all sound from inside the cloak. No one can hear me. Unless I want them to." He laughed at her. "Oh. Well. In that case. DON'T YOU EVER SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN!" Charlie screamed in a demonic voice. "It was funny." He laughed again.

He walked in the desk area of the large room to see the soldiers work and research. "Ah, dear God. I just want off my shift and some time alone in my heated bed. The is a ridiculous frozen wasteland." A soldier said as he signed off papers. "These papers are scouting reports. They've been spying on the tower. The Love Boat of The Vees. Nothing on my base though. Good." He said as the soldier put the paper into a stack. "Come on, you're scaring me. Just find what you need and get out!" Charlie begged. "Princess. I promise you, I'll be fine." He said as the soldier looked over at a stage. "Everyone! I need your attention!" Said a voice from the stage. One by one, Light Core soldiers crowded around the stage to see the one who was speaking. "You..."

Phantom stood behind the crowd, watching a man in an armor like his and The Dark Core leaders. But it was a blue color and had bright white eyes. His weapon, a blue handled, white blade soul steel sword on his back. And he was a Light Core Leader. "Guardian. AKA... Ashton Landry." Phantom said. "Ashton? Is he one of the Light Core leaders?" Charlie asked. "He is THE Light Core Leader. There's been reports of the other leaders in other locations around Orange. Maybe he's the only one on base." He suspected. "Alright everyone! Time to get to business!" Guardian said. "Oh, I'm listening closely, hero. To every little secret..." Phantom laughed.

"Alright! Let's talk." Guardian said as pictures of the things he was talking about appeared on the wall from a projector. "As we know, Heaven and Hell are quite real. The Dark Core were experimenting on an inter dimensional portal generator. Powered by a large soul crystal that they had taken from Extinction Island. The last place where all extinct animals live and breathe." Guardian said as he walked back and forth on the stage.

"First, the portal turned Orange into a frozen waste. Second, it brought demons from another universe here. That's where things get crazy. The Dark Core took on these demons into their tower. But it seems some aren't on their side." Guardian said as pictures of The Vees and Edge appeared over head on the wall behind him. "The Dark Core, their soldiers, their citizens, and their leaders are our enemies. Our new mission is not, I repeat, NOT to help The Dark Core." He said.

"But we are gonna help everyone else. Dark Core Leader, The Phantom, and inter dimensional demon princess Charlotte Morningstar are the targets of a one billion dollar bounty. The bounty was issued by the crime lord of our world named Edge. And he has hired ten assassins to do the job. Now, in their hunt for Phantom's head, they could endanger the lives of normal citizens that Orange might still have. You see an assassin on Edge's list, take them down." He ordered.

"Why don't we just let them kill him and send him back to hell!? They'll do our jobs for us!" A soldier said as she and others laughed. "Real funny..." Phantom looked at her and sighed. "Very funny, soldier. You got your orders. Gear up, rest, eat, get ready. We're patrolling in an hour. You're all dismissed." He said as he walked off stage and went through doors to Light Core Leader private quarters.

"Just waiting for an order to raid the big Dark Tower! Been fighting these guys on every continent. God, we could be days away from saving the world from these evil monsters..." a soldier said as she and the others walked their separate ways. "Ah, yes. The biggest problem with fighting for the light. It blinds you from seeing the winning side." Phantom said as he walked in between soldiers. He walked over to a desk and slid papers around on the table to read reports. "Here they are. Scouting reports from Nazaris Motel. And they say... Cutter's body was brought to the base's morgue. My next stop." He smiled.

"Great! Now get to that morgue and get out!" Charlie begged. "Oink!" Nugget chimed in. "Yeah, what he said." Charlie said as Phantom looked at another door in the room that said morgue above it. "Cutter's body. At least I know it ain't gonna go nowhere." He said as he ran to the door and continued on to through the halls. "You know. I am kinda impressed. You're doing all of this on own. It... takes a lot of strength." Charlie said. "I've done a lot of things on my own. This is no different." He said as he found the way to the ice cold morgue.

"A fully operational ice box. Just how long have you been here, heroes?" He uncloaked and walked into the morgue and saw the walls covered in body drawers. "Ah, Mr. Cutter..." he said as he walked down the steps to the body that was lied out in the middle of the room on a table. "Looking a little stiff." He looked at the body and saw a bullet wound in his chest. "A kill shot. I wonder..." he looked at the table and saw some tweezers. He took them in his hands and dug into the wound.

"What are you doing?" Charlie asked. "I'm checking the bullet..." he pulled out a silver bullet out and held it in the light. "Hmm. No prints. This round is pure soul steel. A highly, HIGHLY expensive material. Even Edge isn't rich enough to buy it. Not even on the black market. So... whoever's after Edge... outclasses him. Who? Who did you piss off, man?..." Phantom asked as he dropped the bullet. He turned around saw another table with a box on it. He stepped over to it and rummaged through it and found Cutter's phone. "I'll look into this when I get the moment. Now. I gotta get out of here." Phantom said as he cloaked again and ran to escape The Light Core base.
