Phantom and Vaggie made it inside the courtyard of the motel. Vaggie was sitting on a stone bench while Phantom went ahead to locate the exact room that was taken by Edge's right hand. While she sat there, she was thinking about the odd emotions she was feeling the last couple of days.

Phantom had been... unique with her. Although, she was upset that he used this as a tool to slow her down not even 2 hours ago. But when he apologized, it seemed genuine. So. With all things considered, she was confused. She had slightly gained an interest in him, but was unsure if it were equal feelings. She had eventually gotten tired of waiting and stood up off the bench and paced around the courtyard in the snow. As she walked around, noticed her reflection in the mirror wall of the courtyard. And she could see was he confused face.

"Enjoying the view?" Phantom asked from a hall as he watched her. "Hmph. Are you?" He said irritated and embarrassed as she put a hand on her hip. "What's your deal?" He asked as he walked over to her. "Nothing!" She said, crossing her arms and looked away from him. "Alright. There's at least six things you just did that says that was a lie, but I won't push it." He laughed and crossed his arms at her. "Are you always like this? Just a massive know it all?" She asked. "Mmm, only on the week days. Besides, weren't you the one who was just telling me not to bottle things up?" He asked smugly.

"Well... in my defense, I didn't think you were actually listening..." Vaggie crossed her arms. "I do listen to you." Phantom stepped closer. "Yeah? Why's that?" Vaggie rolled her eyes away. And blushed as he lifted her chin to see her. "Because... You might be one of the few other world demons that I can actually trust..." he said as she stared right into his helmet's bright red lenses. "You really trust me?" Vaggie asked, confused on where this conversation was going. "You and Charlie protected the kids. So yes. I do." I grazed his gloved thumb on her chin. "You really care about those two kids, don't you?" Vaggie smirked at his sweet uncle position. "Yeah, I, uh... I have a soft spot for kids. Besides... I was, uh... I was supposed to be a father..."

Vaggie looked shocked as he went quiet and let go of her and turned for the hallway of the motel rooms. "Now let's go. I found the room he and the demon girls have." Phantom said like he was trying to enter a serious, cold soldier voice again. Vaggie watched him walk on, wide eye at his comment. And one thought in her head. Why... wasn't he a father? "You coming or what?" He turned back to ask. "What? Uh, yeah, yeah! I'm right behind you..."

LATER.

The locked door to room 321 was violently kicked open and slammed open into the hall of the room. And in the dark from outside, two black figures stood in the doorway, both with sharp red eyes.

"The faster we find Cutter, the sooner we find Edge." Phantom said as he walked into the hallway that led into the room. "Hmm. Somethings wrong. This doesn't feel right..." Vaggie noted as they walked down the hallway and into the living room. "The moth said something about a break in. This... must be the aftermath." Phantom said as he and Vaggie stopped in their tracks as they saw the mess of the living room.

"Holy..." Vaggie cupped her hands over her mouth with wide eyes as they saw blood all over the room, the back window opened, allowing snow piles to fly in, and worst of it all, Valentino's girl Summer lying on the ground with her throat slit. "Guess she didn't have as good of a time as she hoped." Phantom walked into the living room.

"Who do you think did this?" Vaggie asked as she looked over the room. "I don't know. Valentino said that Edge seemed to be pursued by someone. Maybe they came here for Cutter." Phantom said. They both looked at each other, and then to the shut door of the bedroom.

The bedroom door was pushed open and the two saw a clean bedroom, but with an untidy bed and sheets. "Strange. It's a hell hole in there, but I could actually crash here..." Phantom yawned. "Riiiiiight. What do you think?" Vaggie asked. He pointed to the bottom of the bathroom door. "I think there's one more door that needs to be open..." he said as she saw the blood. Vaggie approached it slowly and grabbed the handle. And pushed it opened.

"Jesus..." Vaggie said quietly as she found Dia dead in the tub. "Phantom! I found the other girl!" Vaggie said as he looked into the bathroom from the doorway. "Great. And no signs of Cutter." Phantom growled. "Any ideas?" She asked. "Only one. Come with me." He grabbed her by hand and pulled her back to the living room. "What am I supposed to see?" Vaggie asked confused. "These..." he knelt down to the living room floor. "Yeah. It's the snow from outside, what about it?" Vaggie asked. "This snow fell into the room after it was opened. So who came in, and who walked out?..." he looked at the snowy field outside the window.

The two walked out of the window and into the snow, and saw three tracks in the snow. "Bootprints. But whose?" Phantom knelt down to the tracks. "Whose? Can you actually ID the print tracks?" Vaggie crossed her arms and looked over his shoulder. "Yes. Actually, IDing this is most easy. These tracks... match the bootprints of Dark Core soldier battle armor." Phantom grazed her finger through the tracks. "Dark Core? Your own soldiers came here?" Vaggie asked. "Could you hold on? I'm doing my beautiful mind act..." Phantom said. "Oh, for God's... go ahead." Vaggie failed to fight a smirk.

"These tracks match Dark Core boot wear. Except, no Dark Core routes have this area marked down for patrol. And none of my soldiers made a report on an incident here. Their soldiers use the same armor as our own troops. These tracks... are Light Core." Phantom growled with hate. "Light Core? I've heard about them, don't know anything. What are they like?" Vaggie asked. "If we're the bad guys, they're the good guys. Although we don't fully see it that way..." Phantom crossed his arms. "I see. So what's the plan?" She asked. "Easy. First, I need some help." He said as a slow whistle sound played from his helmet.

"Before anything happens, don't freak out..." he quickly grabbed her by her waist and held her bridal style over the snow. "Uh, what are you doing with me?..." she asked nervously. "It's this, or they eat you..." Phantom said like it was normal. "Uh, no! You don't just blast past that like you didn't just say what you just said!!!" Vaggie shouted. "Will you relax. They're here. Besides. I won't allow anything to happen to you..." he said as eight massive black fur wolves bursted from the snowy bushes.

"Ah, ah! No! Down!" Phantom ordered as they ran around him, barked at Vaggie in his arms, jumping at her legs. "Sit!" Phantom ordered as they surrounded him. Eventually they settled down and watched Vaggie. She noted the black armor plates they wore, the red and black Phantom logos on forehead area of their helms. She looked at their red glowing eyes and sensed a magic just like Phantom's. "Sit! You're making us look bad in front of the demon, fallen angel thing chick!" Phantom ordered, getting smacked in his shoulder, as they all sat down.

"Uh. Ok, I'll ask, what in the fuck are these things!?" Vaggie asked. Phantom shook his head annoyed. "These THINGS, as you rudely say, are my wolves. Like hunting dogs. They're my hell hounds." Phantom said as he put her down. "Hunting dogs? Why didn't you use them to track us down?" Vaggie asked as Phantom knelt down to pet his wolves. "My hounds have been running from place to place, looking for someone who... someone who needs to die, let's just say that..." he said. "Anyway. These are my hell hounds. And this is Dagger!" He said as a black owl drone flew down and landed on Vaggie's shoulder. "Uh, hi?" Vaggie said as she looked into Dagger's large red eyes.

"Dagger. You and the hounds follow these tracks." Phantom order as Dagger jumped over to his arm. "I have a feeling that these Light Core tracks will lead us to the secret Light Core base we've been after for all this time." Phantom said as he petted his drone as it lightly bit his finger. "Don't fail me." Phantom ordered as Dagger looked at Vaggie and gave a loud electronic screech and flew off with a red glowing trail through the air. "Alright, get." He waved his hell hounds away as they followed Dagger.

"Well until they find what you're looking for, what about us?" Vaggie asked. "Well I need a few things. So you and I are going back to my base."
