Keira hadn't seen Aragorn after the battle. To be honest, she didn't know what to say to him. She wanted nothing more than to be with him, but she had her duties. Placing them onto Thrain's shoulder would be selfish. She wanted him to enjoy his youth.

"What am I supposed to do?" Keira muttered, placing her hand on Thorin's tomb. "He's too young. I do not wish to give him this burden."

"I am ready for it."

Keira turned around to see Thrain standing in the door opening. She opened her mouth, but he continued, "Lúthien told me about Aragorn's proposal and I think you should take it."

"Oh, Thrain," Keira said, approaching him and placing her hand on his cheek. "I already am."

Thrain placed his hand over hers. "I just want to see you happy, Amad, and I can tell he makes you happy."

Keira pulled him into her arms and hugged him tight. "I love you so much, Thrain."

He hugged her back, equally tight. "I love you, too, Amad."
