A/N: Thank you raven_34 for the request! I hope you enjoy!

I was never someone's first choice in terms of friendship and relationships. The first friend I had used me for my speed because I could get out of sticky situations if I was ever caught. After I had gotten them what they needed, they ditched me and pretended to not even know me after I tried to talk to them. You'd think I'd learn my lesson, but I never did. I hated being naive and after my first relationship went south, I knew I was never going to be someone's first choice. Never in a million years. And I was content with it.

"Aye, Y/N, someone wants to speak with ya," my father called from outside the warehouse.

Sighing, I put down my welder and flipped up the mask I was wearing. There was grease on my face as well as my arms. My hair was unkempt and there were some strands that were singed. Who would want to be with someone who didn't care for themselves? If I wasn't going to be someone's first choice looking decent and well kept, who was going to choose me looking like I just walked out of fixing a car? Getting up, I walked over to my father to see Meri and Geiger were there.

"What do they need?" I asked my father.

"Not them," my dad pointed his head to someone who was coming over to us now.

I was expecting Jamison to come over to ask for help on his explosives and other ideas he had, but as the shadow coming towards me was growing taller and taller, I found myself to be standing right in front of the Queen herself.

"G'day," she smiled down at me.

"H-H-Hello," I said, taking off my welding mask.

"Heard you and your father run a tight ship around 'ere," she said, peeking into the warehouse. "Mind if I stop by and get my ax fixed up sometime?"

"N-Not at all," I said.

"Thanks," she said and walked off.

I watched as she had this aura about her. I never saw the Reckoning because I was too worried about making something for someone, so I never knew she was the winner. I only heard from my father that we have a Queen now. What a queen she was. What am I saying? She's way too out of my league for me and I am just someone who makes weapons for a living. I am nothing special compared to her. That was until she gave me a chance and I finally let my past experiences float away, because she gave me a sense of security and warmth that no one has ever given to me before. When she needed help fixing a weapon, she came to me first. When she had a question, she came to me. Anything that involved fixing a weapon, she came to me first. Why was that? I'll never know, but my mind and heart finally saw her as someone who would come to me first. Would I finally be someone's first choice? I was.

"Princess, ya gotta get up for a second," Odessa said as she removed her arm from around my waist.

"But you're just so warm," I chuckled, trying to pull her closer to me.

"I gotta get up for a second," she said.

I pulled away and looked into her amber eyes, a sweet smile appearing on her face.

"It'll only take a second."

"Alright," I said, about to get up, but the door to the throne room burst open.

"Aye, what the fuck?!" Odessa yelled.

I turned around to see who it was. My stomach dropped and I tried to hide my face, but it was too late. My heart rate picked up and I clung onto Odessa as she stood up. She set me down, but I was afraid to let her go.

"You ok, princess?"

"Oi, you," the woman who barged in shouted at me. "I gotta bone to pick with ya."
