eneaj

"Heyy," I awkwardly said, Val a step behind me as I take in her friends and my friend in one sweep.

"I don't know if we was all introduced?" Yenvy cut in, "This is my best friend Eneaj," she flourished her hand out towards me, unable to keep her eyes off Peytyn.

"Hey," I awkwardly said again. I cocked my head, letting Yenvy know we needed to talk. Val awkwardly followed behind me like a kid not ready to go to preschool.

"Val needs somewhere to stay for the night? What's your opinion, bestie?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Well, actually I wanted to ask you the same thing as far as Pey. Um, Peytyn, I mean," Yenvy blushed, "She's tired of their friendship drama."

"Would you be okay with Pey being there while you stayed there too, Val?" I asked, looking over at her for her opinion.

She shrugged. "Might feel like she's not on my side anymore, but she was always the closest to being there. It don't matter. But...all of us can fit up wherever y'all staying?" she asked curiously. A sparkle lit up in Yenvy's eyes, "Let's just say there's a lot of space. Let's keep the house a surprise, Val."

"Now I'm scared," she chuckled.

Yenvy grinned at both of us, "Look at y'all two standin' the same way. Both got y'all arms crossed."

"Chill," I rolled my eyes.

"Not too much," Val said at the same time.

"Alright, well, I'll tell Pey that she can stay. You can too Val. Everything's settled."

"I'm ridin' wit y'all, right?" Val confirmed. "Pey too?"

"Yeah, unless y'all wanna ride around with people y'all arguin' with," I shrugged, frank. Yenvy went over and pulled Peytyn aside to tell her the news, and she responded with a shrug and a nod.

I checked my phone to make sure nothing more had went on at the club, then nudged Val's arm as she stood next to me. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Just feel like something big is gonna happen soon. I just don't know what."

"Well, hopefully whatever it is, it's good," I gave her a hopeful smile. "Even if it might not feel like it."

"Pey wants to ride to my place with Milli and Jadyn," Pey shrugged, looking a little disappointed, "Oh, and she wants you to come too," she gestured to Val.

"Why? I'm staying the night with y'all because I wanna be away from them," I scoffed.

"She wants to try at a final convo. At least give 'em that, I guess," Yenvy shrugged.

Val looked over at me, not at all happy.

"Try it," I encouraged.

"Y'all just don't understand," she mumbled under her breath as she walked away over to her friends.

"We can all eat, then they can trail me to the mansion," Pey told me. "Shit is so tense between the four of them. Damn."

"I just wanna know who they really are...and what they really do," I said lowly, glancing over at them over at our table. There's was now occupied by two tired McDonald's workers, swatting away gnats.

"What do you mean by that?"

"In Val's phone, I saw-

"We're gonna eat on the road. What about you guys?" one of the girls asked, attempting to smooth down a wild mass of hair on her head casually as she not-so-subtly checked Yenvy out.
