valerie

Eneaj stepped out tonight, short fluffy lashes, a tight black dress that dipped low to reveal her breasts, some black boots that went all the way up to her knees with a slight wedge, and her braids up in a bun, edges lightly done.

"Mm, like what you see?" she whispered in my ear. She was almost an inch shorter than me today, instead of just two like usual. "The club owner has to show out, you know."

"And you definitely did," I stated.

We had not left the mansion on good terms. Yenvy and Eneaj fussed about boundaries and her being alone with me, but as soon as we got here both girls let that go, and Yenvy fluttered off with her friends who had shown up and Eneaj was glued to my side.

"So where's this new girl you hired?" I asked.

"Valerie."

"Eneaj," I gave her the same look back.

"She's over there. By the DJ booth," she pointed.

I loved not working tonight. It felt like I was apart of the club not some background person. We walked over to the where the DJ stood, transitioning from a twerk song to a popular one by Nicki. We moved past people trying to put in requests, and climbed up onto the platform.

"Almost didn't recognize you out there, boss," the DJ smiled, dancing along to the beat of the song. I wasn't really familiar with the DJ's, so I didn't know him from the other person who came in to take over.

"How's it goin'?" Eneaj asked, raising her voice a little so she could be heard.

"Good. Fifth's about to go on stage in a minute. I'm taking a bathroom break."

Eneaj nodded. "Good. Break a leg," she patted the shoulder of the girl.

I didn't hide my disdain as I took her in.

She looked like a threat to me. Somebody who could take my girlfriend away, and I didn't like that. You know those people you come across who on the same level as you, or a little bit higher. That's the vibe this Fifth girl gave me, and I wasn't for it.

Now I had to worry about Jadyn and her trying to sweep my girl off her feet? Hell to no.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Eneaj held onto my arm, looking at me.

"I'm ready to dance. Get some drinks. C'mon."

Fifth was handed a wireless microphone, nervously accepting it. We left the platform as she headed onto one of the stages. I stared at what little of the floor we could see as we walked. It shone like maple syrup, keeping my attention as Eneaj basically led us through the crowd.

"Let's find Yenvy. I wanna pop sumin open tonight." Eneaj frowned, turning to me, "Where's Pey and them? I thought the crew was sposed to be coming."

"Yeah. Nobody's text me at all or anything tonight though," I shrugged.

"You're jealous...aren't you?" she peered at me. "Is that why you wanted to go and see who Fifth was?"

"She's competition, and I don't fuck with that," I stated very clearly.

"She's not Val, so chill," she told me gently, kissing me on my cheek. "Let's get everybody together so we can turn up."
