valerieWe all packed into the Civic. I rolled the windows down as I pulled out of the complex. Complete silence. No radio, no talking. Just the sound of us all breathing.
"Val," Eneaj said all of a sudden, her voice sounding so quiet against my other thoughts. "What are you going to do when we get there?"
Right, she was speaking. Fuck, I gotta get out of my head. "You wanted justice for Illiora. I'm gettin' justice for Emilia."
"Val," Eneaj said again, meekly.
"Yes, baby."
"Are you going to kill the girl on the phone...Kaley?"
"Yes, ma," I said softly.
"Fuck...it's like an empty void," Pey said, sniffing.
"The moment you sent her out to do this, it was an empty void," Jadyn said hollowly.
"We're almost there," Val told us, "According to her phone."
"Val," Eneaj reached over and touched my hand, "I can't speak for Milli...but whatever she would have wanted you to do. I want you to do it for her, okay?"
"I will," I nodded, my voice grave. "I will."
My brakes screeched as we reached the house.
Milli laid out in the yard, blood leaking into the grass. Yenvy laid across the sidewalk, face down in the pavement.
"I'll check her pulse," Eneaj mumbled, scrambling over to Milli. We all ignored Yenvy, going over to our own.
"Anything?" I finally got the courage to ask.
"No," Eneaj shook her head, bending next to her.
"She's dead," Jadyn nodded, hands on her head as she walked away.
"No way, man," Pey sighed, staring down at Milli's still figure.
"Are we gonna leave her here? How will we transport her back?" Eneaj asked Pey.
I walked away from the both of them, staring at the house. Into it. Like it had the answers I needed. I don't think anything really could anymore. That's what made my heart ache the most. Milli was wild and unpredictable, but she constant and she was a part of all of us. Jadyn might have been our glue once, but now the lost of Milli would have to be ours.
I could feel all of our hearts drifting away.
We were all at shore. Lost. And sick of this hell.
Then I saw something shift inside the house. I yelled out to the others and charged forward. I was getting light headed- I was pretty weak as it was. Pey broke down the door and we got inside, leaving Eneaj helplessly out on the lawn.
"Get in the car," I yelled back out at her. Then me and Jadyn went to searching the house while Pey headed for the backyard.
I saw legs heading under the table and grabbed the bitch up. Kaley. Her face hit me like a train.
I started choking her as she tried to claw my hands away. She didn't even have it in her to cry out for her life.
"Val, let me," Jadyn said softly from besides me.
Milli and her were always closer.
I owed her that much, I'll admit.
Jadyn snapped the girls neck and I weakly laid my back against the wall, trying to keep the room from spinning. Pey came back as the girl limply fell from Jadyn's arms.
"Good. She's down," Pey glared down at her.
"Val, you okay?" Jadyn asked, turning to look at me.
"Some air...that's all," I said weakly.
They both helped me out of the house. As they took me to the car, I noticed Milli's body gone and panic took over me. Until I saw Eneaj closing the trunk, a sad look in her eyes.
"You didn't have to," I sighed.
I got into the backseat, Eneaj sitting next to me. Pey and Jadyn got up in the front and we rolled off.
"Val," Eneaj leaned gently moved my head down to lay on her shoulder, "No matter what, I got you."
"I got you too, Eneaj," I whispered.
The End
If you're a pretty regular reader of mine, then you usually know that this is where I'd put my next book's picture and a small excerpt from the next book to encourage y'all to keep reading my things or keep you informed when I have a new book out. However...that's not the case this time. I have less and less time to write, and besides me updating "Only For Da Weekend" in a few days, this might be one of the last books that I work on. I don't think many people particularly care for my books and I don't get as much interaction as I'd like as far as them anyways. But, if I change my mind, check back here to see if I recommend my next book and a picture of it here. (P.S. if you're confused about what I'm talking about, check the last chapters of a few of my more recent books on here and you'll see).
All love, your fav author ❤️
