The whoosh ruffled my hair as Thalia Doesn't-Have-A-Last-Name shut the door in my face. I was seething, but also puzzled. What had just happened?

"They must have used a- a DisIllusionment Charm or-or something!" I spluttered, my face probably red.

"Harry, be sensible-" Hermione tried to reason with me, but I intervened.

"No!" Then I realized what I had said, seeing Ron's lip tug upwards a little. "I- I mean-" I raked my fingers through my hair. "I am being sensible! It all fits! They obviously used a Cruciatus Curse and an Imperius Curse on the Sorting Hat, and maybe even the teachers too!" The puzzle pieces fit together with a satisfying krnch in my head.

"And did you see the relieved expression McLean exhibited after the hat made that whole speech about accepting Slytherin? It was a total hoax! They probably enchanted the hat to say that so they would accept the girl! Now- now they have spies in all four houses!" I stopped to catch my breath, winded from the rant.

"Harry," Hermione began tenderly. I realized she was a little scared of me right now, and I immediately felt bad. "What about we think over all the information we have and see where it fits in?"

I nodded. There was silence for a few minutes as we racked our brains to think of anything that we might have missed. Then-

"Harry! I just remembered; di Angelo and Solace apparated into Hogwarts that first night!" Hermione twisted a strand of her hair nervously.

I jumped. "You're right! This is clearly proof- they're- well- I don't know, but something is wrong!" Hermione looked down at her feet.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you, Harry. You were right. Something is wrong." Hermione admitted sheepishly.

"Well- um- right- we should keep an eye on them." I twitched, Hermione's revelation for some reason making me uncomfortable.

"Hey," Ron talked, for the first time in a few minutes, "what are they doing in there? None of them have come out yet." He gestured to the door where the gold panel was still engraved with words from another language.

"I don't know," Hermione replied sharply, "But we're about to find out."
