Chapter 14: What's with the new outfit, Cleo?

When Cleo got back to Monster High, Ghoulia was stunned. She couldn't help but pause her game during a very important battle and stare at her friend. Cleo was absolutely breathtaking in her entirely different, more mature looking new outfit. Ghoulia had trouble figuring out if the dress Cleo was wearing was midnight blue or turquoise though.
"Oh my ghoul! It worked! And you look goregeous!", Ghoulia said, stunned by the words coming out of her mouth.
"I know I look faboolous! The Twins gave it to me as a disguise! I can't wait for Deuce and the ghouls to see it!", Cleo said. She then posed and took several selfies in her new outfit, posing like a model and flipping her long dark hair, allowing the light to catch the metallic parts of the outfit. She then posted the selfies on her Eek-Tok, wondering how many likes they would get, not mentioning the portal or where she had gotten the outfit from.
She smiled as the responses on her Eek-Tok came pouring in, with her ghoulfriends and Ghoulia saying that she looked goregeous and Draculaura sending a heart emoji.
The response from Deuce was the most important though. It just consisted of the words "You look good, ghoul. Midnight blue is a great color on you.", followed by a blue heart emoji. She couldn't help but blush at it. He hadn't forgotten about their relationship! He had noticed her!
Naomi had been right. Maybe letting the twins give her a makeover hadn't been a bad idea after all. Their fashion sense had been spot on with her disguise after all.
She then updated Ghoulia about what she saw on the other side of of the portal.
"So the whole school was grey, and the Normies in that dimension have unusual phenotypes for Normies or are fully greyscale? There is also an Art High School full of rich people? That sounds insane. I guess whatever gods took over that dimension really changed it up! And just how rich are those Twins, Naomi and Veronica?", Ghoulia asked, fascinated by what she was hearing.
"They are very wealthy. You should have seen their dorm room! It was massive and very well decorated with black marble, sliver, and only the finest fabrics in their signature colors! Not to mention all their acting and modeling awards as well as their special vanities from their time on "Wonder Models"!", Cleo said excitedly.
"They are actors? No wonder you're friends with them! And I haven't heard of this show, what is it?", Ghoulia said, curious.
"Its a Tween Drama that they were in when they were years younger. It only exists in their dimension though.", Cleo explained.
"And no offense, but those Twins sound really egotistical. What kind of ghouls or whatever they are put their life accomplishments on display like that? Honestly, they sound a bit like Nefera.", Ghoulia said.
Cleo was speechless. The Twins were nothing like Nefera! Not even close!
"They are nothing like Nefera! Nefera is evil and narcissistic. They are nice to me and I feel like I can relax around them and tell them anything! Not everyone is lucky enough to have rich friends from another dimension!", Cleo said, annoyed by Ghoulia's comparison.
"And they just have a lot of self-confidence! What is wrong with being confident in yourself?", Cleo asked.
Ghoulia sighed, "Too much confidence could lead to pride, which could lead to an overinflated ego. But of course you, of all ghouls struggle to understand that."
Cleo glared at Ghoulia, but she knew that she had a point and was probably right.
The ghouls agreed to keep the Shadow High dimension secret, as they didn't want other ghouls finding out that there was a whole other world full of Normies other than the Human World.
As she walked back to her dorm, her peers stopped and stared. They were not used to Cleo dressing like this.
When she walked past Nefera, Nefera looked annoyed at her sister's newfound confidence.
"Cleo, what's with the weird clothes? Dad would get mad at you for dressing in such nontraditional attire, you know...", Nefera said.
"Nefera. I will dress how I like, and you do not dictate my fashion choices. My friends were right. What you're saying is stupid and I should stand up for myself, because I am twice the ghoul that you are, even if you are older than me!", Cleo said.
Nefera was taken aback, "As your older sister, and heir to the De Nile family throne, I just want to protect you from bad influences, and those stupid evil vampire twins are clearly bad influences on you!", Nefera said angerly.
"The only evil ghoul that I see right now is you! Now let me be on my way!", Cleo said, trying her best to speak with the confidence that she had seen Naomi speak with.
When she got to her dorm, Lagoona excitedly greeted her.
"Cleo! Where were you, ghoul? And your outfit looks clawsome! Where did you get it?", Lagoona asked.
"I got it whenever my family went on vacation to Egypt a while back. I guess I never wore it around here before.", Cleo said.
"Well, you look amazing in midnight blue. Or is that turquoise?", Lagoona asked, a bit confused.
"Its both. Its a special, expensive, color shifting fabric.", Cleo explained.
"Wow! That is so cool! I wish my family could afford clothes like that!", Lagoona said.
As it was getting late, Cleo quickly did her homework before going to bed. Even if she had missed valuable homework time while visiting the Shadow High dimension, it had been worth it for her to thank the Twins in person for what they had done for her.
She smiled as she thought of the new outfit hanging in her closet. It was one of the best things a friend had ever given her and she was going to treasure it forever.
