Manik POV

I opened my apartment door, hoping Nandini to be on the other side of it.

"Surprise." I shut my eyes hearing my friends yelling.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"What do you mean by "what are you doing here?" Ashley, one of my close and genuine friends, smacked my head before pushing me and entering my house.

"Ouch." Daniel hit me on the same spot as Ashley. As soon as everyone entered I closed the door.

We all were in the same college. Ashley, Daniel, and I were in the same class. We all had taken computers while Jennifer, Hardin, and Damon were doing business management. Hardin and Ashley are siblings, which explains how we all formed a group. Daniel and Ashley have been dating for two years and trust me they are couple goals. Damn cute. They have been my pillar since college, especially Ashley, she is my soul sister. Jennifer is a pain in the ass, well my ass, as she is after me since college but I couldn't reciprocate her feelings. Hardin and Damon are big-time flirts. One-night stands, and random flings are usual for them.

"What's up with the kitchen?" Ashley yelled, "There is nothing here."

"I was out. I was back yesterday night so." I lied, shrugging my shoulders. I was not in the mood to answer anyone right now. Ashley looked at me, scrutinizing my face, before taking me into a hug.

"I am leaving this thing for now. Later on, we are talking about it," she knew me too well.

"Hi, Manik." Jennifer entered the kitchen in her sugary tone

"I can't do this now, please." I sighed in Ashley's ears.

"Don't worry, let me handle her."

"Jenny why don't you come and help me here, Daniel wants to have a word with Manik."

"Daniel" Ashley shouted

"Ya babe" he entered the kitchen and walked straight to Ashley kissing her temple.

Aren't they cute?

"You wanted to talk to Manik right? He is free now."

"I wanted to talk" he made a confused face and before Jenny could predict anything, Ashley elbowed Daniel, eying him something.

"Oh ya. Absolutely. I wanted to talk to Manik. Ya Manik come let's go out." Ashley winked at me, with a smile on her face. I mouthed a "Thank you".

"What's up, dude?" Daniel asked as we walked towards the living hall.

"Don't ask. Its-"

"Manik." I heard someone calling my name, and banging on the front door.

"Rose," I murmured to myself. Is it her?

Hardin opened the door, revealing a shattered, crying Nandini at the door.

"Manik, Manik." she pushed Hardin and rushed inside calling my name. Everyone were gathered in the hall by now

"Rose."

"Manik." she looked into my eyes and rushed towards me, taking me into a tight hug.

"Manik." she cried her heart out, hiding herself in my chest.

"Rose. Shhh." I hugged her tight, "See your Manik is here."

"Manik.. I.. I"

"Shhh." I kissed her forehead, before resting mine on hers.
