Mali'kis POV

The next morning was kind of gloomy. I woke up to the sound of the clan bursting with life, the savory smell of food being made, my stomach growled.

I got up from the bed and stretched out my limbs, I looked at my shawl that I've been wearing and sighed. Maybe I can make myself some clothes I thought to myself as I messed with the shawl that hung loosely on my body.

I walked out of my hut to join the clan, I grabbed a plate of food and took a seat. Lo'ak plopped down next to me as well did Kiri and Tuk. "Long time no see stranger" Lo'ak teased as he lightly pushed into my shoulder, I laughed and pushed him back. "Good morning to you too" I signed as I took a bite out of my food.

As I was sitting there laughing and talking with Kiri and Lo'ak and Tuk, I felt eyes burning into me. I looked up and saw Neteyam staring at me as his mate tried getting his attention.

I immediately averted my gaze as my face heated up. I finished up my food and began helping the clan members clean up. I helped pull my weight with the clan while everyone tended to their duties.

I was currently walking with a basket of fabric, my head was honestly in the clouds because I bumped into someone. The person that I bumped into turned around and it was a girl.

"Watch where your going freak" she snapped and walked away from me, but she shoved into my shoulder hard causing the basket to fall out of my hands. I whimpered from how hard she shoved into me, while she walked away laughing.

"Are you okay?" An accented voice spoke as they crouched down and began picking up the pieces of fabric that had fallen on the floor. I looked up and I recognized him immediately,  I flinched in fear as I froze in place, he chuckled. "Hi Mali" he said with a fanged smile, my heart skipped a beat, my face turning red.

He looked down at his hands and I followed his eyes, our hands were intertwined due to the fabric we picked up at the same time. My face heated up again as I scrambled to pull my hands away, Neteyam chuckled at my actions.

"Are you okay? Did Satori do this?" He asked again as he put the last of the fabric in the into the basket, I nodded shyly as I saw him tighten his jaw. "Don't worry about her, I'll deal with her" he stated as he handed me the basket. We stood up and awkward silence filled the space between us.

I slightly rocked on my heels as he rubbed his neck awkwardly, "I'll catch you later?" He questioned, all I could do was smile and nod. With that he returned the smile and left, an immediate feeling of embarrassment washed over me as I walked with my head down.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid I scolded myself as I entered my hut and took a seat. I began making some new clothes, I was completely lost in my mind as I weaved my fingers along the hems of the clothing that I was making.

The clan had dulled down a bit since the patrol and hunting teams had went out for the day. As I finished up my clothing, I admired my work and squealed happily.

Beautiful I thought to myself as I put the extra fabric away and placed my clothes in an empty basket that was lying in my room. I laid down in my hammock and just let my mind wonder.

I did miss my home though, my heart ached to be back in my rightful home. Where I grew up, I missed my mother, I missed my father, the coldness of the wind brushing on my skin, the freedom.

My eyes grew heavy with sleep, so I allowed it to consume. I went to bed hungry that night, but in all honesty, I didn't care.
