No One's POV

The night was quiet, the clan was asleep except for the night patrols.

The sound of fire crackling could be heard from some of the homes of the Omaticaya people. In the far distance of the forest, animals could be heard screaming in agony as the sky people pushed through. Murdering them in cold blood without hesitation.

The sky people had racked a flamethrower through the forest and set it on fire. Now back to the Omaticaya clan, in a specific hut there lay the oldest son of Jake Sully and Neytiri.

His body was curled around a girl, their legs were intwined, his arms were wrapped protectively around her, her face was tucked into his chest, their tails were tangled together. They were sound asleep.

Except the girl began to twitch in her sleep. Her body felt like it was on fire, her breathing picked up, her body prickled with sweat. Now in the distance, a far cry sounded and it perked the young girls ears up.

Feeling the forest burn and the animals dying. Neteyam woke up to a sudden jolt of the young girl in his arms. He saw as her eyes were closed tightly shut with tears streaming down her cheeks. Her body twitching and thrashing around. Soft whimpers leaving her lips.

"Mali.. baby! Wake up" Neteyam shouted as he began shaking the girl awake. The girl gasped as she woke up, her breathing halted to a pant as she looked at the boy in front of her. He looked so worried, confused, and scared. Mali'ki whimpered as she cradled herself in his lap.

Neteyam didn't question as he held her. The close contact of their skin made him shiver and also had many thoughts swirl in his mind. Some were holy and the others weren't so holy, he scolded himself for his sinner thoughts in a time like this.

"Baby what's wrong" his accent was prominent in his raspy morning voice, "I could feel them.. the animals.. their dying.. the forest is dying" Mali'ki whimpered into his chest as more tears fell from her eyes. He wrapped his arms tightly around her, she wrapped her arms around his neck, the feeling of his skin underneath her made a shiver prickle her skin.

His warmth radiated off of him. She cried into his chest as he held her. Neteyam started rocking them back and forth slowly, her soft sniffles could be heard. "We must tell my mother and father tomorrow okay?" Mali'ki nodded her head as sleep was heavy on her eyelids.

"Come baby, let's sleep" Neteyam whispered, he was hoping that Mali'ki didn't hear the pet name as he laid her down and joined her.

She entangled herself with him as he covered them with the blankets. Her soft sniffling was the last thing that was heard before they both fell back to sleep.

Time: Early Morning

The morning sun rose and shinned brightly through the cave opening, casting its rays amongst the homes of the Omaticaya people.

The Ikrans screeched loudly and the clan began to wake up and begin their day. Sounds of the members feet were heard for those that have not woken up yet. The sully family had woken up and began eating breakfast.

Jake and Neytiri were talking amongst themselves while their children sat and ate. The missing member of the family was Neteyam. "Neteyam! Let's go son we have a patrol this morning" Jake shouted, but there was no answer. So Jake got up and went to his oldest sons room and barged in.

The room was empty.

Immediately Jake turned and faced his mate along with his other three kids with a worried look. "Ma Jake, what is wrong?" Neytiri questioned as she looked at him with curiosity and worry. Jake sighed heavily, "Neteyam is not home" with that Neytiri jumped to her feet and went to go look in his room and to her surprise, her son was not there.
