CHAPTER 35
- I SEE HIM EVERYWHERE

After Mateo left Aurora alone in the forest, she decided to take a stroll to admire the colourful trees.

There was a soft, warm breeze gently blowing on her face every once in a while and her mind was fresh, clean, neat. She wasn't thinking of Mateo's anger towards her, and definitely not of her current love situation.

She was simply watching a deer strut peacefully, which was not aware of Aurora's presence, just looking around avidly but never noticing the princess.

There was a smell of honey. The young woman, interested, noticed a bee hive above her head. People were never interested in details, their eyes would just skim over a landscape and would call it pretty, but Aurora would look at every tiny detail, and could talk about them for hours.

She smiles at the view of the tiny creatures buzzing and working.

They were independent, hard working, rewarded, recognised.

She suddenly became jealous of those bees. She wanted to be acknowledged too. She wanted people to know how hard her life has been since Christina's death, Samantha's betrayal and the new mafia enemy.

She sighed. Aurora trudged through the flowery forest, her eyes fixed on the ground as she went. The vibrant colors of the flowers that surrounded her failed to bring the usual joy and happiness they usually did. She couldn't help but feel disappointed in herself, a feeling that had been creeping up on her for days.

As she walked, she couldn't help but think of all the mistakes she had made recently. The thought of them made her shoulders slump and her head hang low. She had let herself and others down and she couldn't shake the feeling that she was a failure.

Despite her internal turmoil, the forest was still beautiful. The sun shone down through the leaves, casting a warm glow on everything around her. The scent of the flowers was sweet and heady, and the soft rustling of the leaves and grass beneath her feet was soothing.

But Aurora couldn't appreciate any of it. She was too wrapped up in her own thoughts and her own disappointments. She wondered if she would ever be able to forgive herself and move past her mistakes.

Eventually, Aurora found a quiet spot in the forest and sat down on a fallen log. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, letting the scent of the flowers fill her senses. Slowly, she began to calm down and tried push away her negative thoughts.

As she stood up and began to make her way back through the forest, Aurora felt a renewed sense of hope and determination. The flowers seemed to glow even brighter, and the forest felt like a sanctuary where she could find peace and solace whenever she needed it.

She liked it. The sound of the birds chirping, her footsteps making a quiet sound on the patch of grass beneath her feet, everything was so calming to her, so.. natural.

She smiled. She smiled because she believed that her pretend relationship with Romeo could actually turn out to be great. Her parents could actually believe it for an extended amount of time, meaning she probably won't marry Mateo for now, unless if her parents have no respect for her and think that her happiness doesn't matter.

Her negative thoughts swarmed her again.

Aurora walked through the forest, taking in the sights and sounds around her. The trees towered above her, their leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. The ground beneath her feet was soft and springy, covered in a layer of fallen leaves.
