"Ah...Cole...I can't-"

"Just a little more..."

"Please, it won't fit...!"

"Well, you were the one who wanted Chen's Noodles." Cole smiled as he swallowed the savory noodles that dangled from his chop sticks

"But my stomach's about to burst! I'm telling you it won't fit!"

"Whiny ass baby, I'm taking yo plate." Cole laughed as he took Jay's leftovers away from him

"Go ahead, you've already eaten half the menu." Jay groaned

Cole slurped up the noodles with a smile before turning his attention back towards his ginger friend

"Ya know...your Con Day gon be great. You know that, right?"

Jay lifted his head up from the table that it was pressed against to look at the larger boy for a small period of time before laying his head back down to rest

"Thanks, Cole."

"Oh no! Don't thank me with yo words, thank me by paying this bill." Cole laughed as he moved the empty bowls to the side

Jay looked up to see the face of his best friend one more time before pulling out his wallet with a scoff, "Yeah, well, you owe me one!"

"Anything you want." Cole grinned

"...Why do you keep saying that? You've been telling me that all day." Jay laughed with slight confusion

"I just, I just want you to have a good day today. You been stressin' and stuff and I just...want you to be happy. That's all." Cole smiled softly

Jay let his eyes linger on his best friend for just a little bit longer before sighing to himself. Cole was acting so...strange today, but maybe he was the one making it weird and this was just how Cole always was

"Well, if you're still determined to make today a good one, I think I know where I wanna go next." Jay spoke with a toothy grin

"Aight, let's go!" Cole smiled

Jay paid for the meal the two ate before they went along their way. They made it to the door before being stopped by a familiar voice

"Hey!"

The two boys turned around dto face thier good friend, Skylar, who quickly approached them with a large smile

"Y'all were just gonna go without so much as a "Hello" "? The redhead laughed loudly

"We we're gonna say hi, but we thought you were busy!" Jay smiled as he received a bone crushing hug from the much taller woman beside him

"Looks like I caught ya just in time. What are y'all doing today? I hope I'm not intruding on a date or something!"

"A what?" Jay asked quickly, not noticing Cole signaling Skylar to shut up behind him

"U-Um...! You know I'm just joking around! Lighten up a bit." Sklyar laughed, punching Jay in the shoulder softly

"Aha, right..." Jay smiled softly. Now he was sure he wasn't imagining things, something weird was definitely going on

"Anyway, it was nice seeing you, Sky. We finna head out but we can catch up another time." Cole spoke with a grin

"Alright then, see you folks another time!" Skylar smiled, and with that, the two boys were on their way

Jay and Cole walked by each other in comfortable silence before finding Cole's Earth Digger in the restaurant parking lot. The two boys slid into the front seats and adjusted themselves a bit before Jay finally piped up

"Cole?" The ginger called out

"Yeah?" The bigger man answered, as he mindlessly scrolled through his phone

"Do you think this is a date?"

Shit. Skylar and her big fucking mouth. Don't get me wrong, Cole loved Skylar, she was the gay bestie to his already gay self, but that girl couldn't keep her mouth shut for the life of her

"Nah, Sky's just playin." He spoke

"...Really?" Jay asked

"Yeah, you know she be wildin." Cole smiled as he started the car

"Yeah, okay..." Jay agreed softly before continuing,

"But I swear if you try to kiss me, I'll bust your balls open."

"AHAHAHA, Shut the fuck up!" Cole laughed loudly

"So, where you wanna go?" The darker boy smiled as they pulled out of the parking lot and into the street

"Take me to Build-a-Bear." Jay demanded

"Uh- Can you say "please"? " Cole asked

"I've got gas money." Jay answered quickly

"...Good enough." Cole shrugged

And with that, the two friends were on their way

Nya sat alone on her bed as she stared at the phone across from her. She was, for a lack of better words...scared. She wanted to call her boyfriend to ask if he would be free sometime soon so that he and Jay could meet, but she didn't know what to say. It was always him calling her and starting up convo, and she didn't exactly know how to replicate that.

She stared at the contact on her phone, named only under a small, skull emoji, contemplating of doing something like this was even a good idea

What if it was a terrible idea? What if Shane took offense to Jay's presence? Or worse; What if Jay to offense to Shane?

The black haired girl took a deep breath before picking up her phone to start typing

Nya put her phone down against the bed with a force before laughing quietly to herself. She was so happy Shane said yes, now the only problem she had was getting Jay to agree too...

Just another day in Ninjago.
