As the day finally came to an end, so did Kai's Con Day. The brunette began wrapping up the questioning portion of the day before finally getting up to leave
"Alright! That's all for today! Thank you all for coming!Be bold and stay hot!" Kai smiled brightly as he waved to the audience
"KAI!"
"KAI, PLEASE! ONE MORE QUESTION!"
"MARRY ME, KAI!"
"I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"
The master of fire chuckled lightly hearing the comments as he walked backstage
"You did good." Said Wu, who waited by the curtains
"No, I did great!" Kai grinned, crossing his arms over his head
Wu laughed at the brunette before being cut of by the ringtone that emerged from the other man's pocket. Kai reached into his back pocket to pick up the phone, smiling when he realized who was calling, and putting the device up to his ear
"Hey, Baby." Kai smirked softly
"Good evening, Love. I know you've had a long day but I've just got a few things to ask." Zane's muffled voice spoke over the phone
"Shoot!"
"What do you want for dinner? I can cook something if you really want me to, but I can also pick up food from Chen's or something. Get you some of that katsudon you like." Zane said with a light teasing tone at the end
"Oo, baby that sounds so good...! But you don't have to, I can stop and get it on the way back." Kai smiled
"Are you sure?" Zane asked
"Yeah, baby. I got it." Kai answered as he walked closer to the exiting door, where a line of fans were waiting for him
"Alright, see you soon, Love." Zane whispered softly
"Catch ya later, babe." Kai spoke before hanging up
"Alright, Wu, is my face oily?"
"No, Kai."
"Is my hair messy?"
"No, Kai."
"Do my clothes look weird?"
"No, Kai."
"...Are you just saying "no" to everything to make me feel better?"
"...No, Kai..."
The brunette laughed with his sensei before opening the big doors.
Fans tossed him gifts left and right as he smiled for photos while simultaneously collecting them. He got roses, teddy bears, and what he prayed wasn't a bag of underwear all before sliding into the sleek, dark limo that waited for him
"Good God! Am I allowed to burn that bag when I get home, just in case?" Kai asked once they entered the car
Wu looked at the small, black bag for a bit before laughing aloud, "Do whatever you please, just don't put it on my couch."
Kai pulled out his phone with a chuckle before swiping down to the name "Fire Crotch" in his contacts list and putting the phone up to his ear
Jay saw the name "Stupid Fatty" flash across his screen along with the Pac Man starting theme as the ringtone
"Hold on, it's Kai." Jay said to Cole, who stood at the clothing racks picking clothes for their baby- I mean...bear...
Jay picked up the phone and spoke into it quietly as he didn't want people to overhear his call
"What is it?" Jay asked
"You want anything from Chen's?"
"Ugh, no thanks. Cole and I just left from there. But knowing him, he'll probably want something else. Cole! Do you want anything from Chen's?"
"Uh...oo! Ask him to get me some egg rolls!" Cole smiled
"He wants egg rolls, don't ask me how many, just get a lot." Jay spoke into the speaker
"Alright, is that all?" Kai asked, admiring one of the roses he got
"Yeah, that's it." Jay answered
"See you later then." Kai smiled before hanging up
Since he already knew what Zane would want, Kai scrolled down to Lloyd's name and put the phone up to his ear once more
The phone rang for a while before going to voice mail, confusing Kai as Lloyd had been home the whole day. The brunette called the blonde one more time before receiving voice mail yet again
"What the hell...?" Kai mumbled with irritation
"What is it?" Wu asked
"Lloyd's not picking up his phone..." Kai spoke quietly, "That's weird, right? Considering he's just home with Nya."
"Yes, it's rather odd. But there could be a million reasons why he didn't answer, jumping to conclusions will just cause unnecessary tensions." Wu spoke softly
Kai listened quietly to the elderly man speak. Even in times when it was barely necessary, his wisdom seeped into everything he said. And so the brunette sat patiently in his seat as the long, sleek limousine followed it's route
But somewhere far away, there was a blonde straying from every path ever paved for him
The two boys kissed quietly as they sat entangled with each other in the woods. Lloyd straddled Morro's lap, keeping his warm hands on the other boy's chest, while Morro sat on the ground leaned up against a tree, combing his gentle hands through his boyfriend's hair
"Cindy Lou, can I see you again tomorrow?" Morro asked
"Mhm..." Lloyd agreed softly
"And the next tomorrow?"
"Mhm."
"And the tomorrow after that?"
"Morro-"
"And again after that?"
"Ahaha!"
"And every tomorrow after that?" Morro smiled, grasping Lloyd by the waist as he laid him on the ground
The sound of Lloyd's laughter was almost like pure adrenaline to the ghost. It sent blood pumping through his body, It put butterflies in his stomach, it made his palms sweaty, it made his brain throw all logic out the window.
It made him feel human again.
"You can see me anytime you want." Lloyd said, cupping the cheeks of the ghost boy in his own warm hands
"I'm yours."
"...Mine?" Morro smirked
"Mhm," Lloyd chuckled, "I'm all yours."
He swore he was about to explode. The emotions that suddenly started to come to light were too much for him. Lloyd was his, not anybody else's. He was his and his alone. Morro let the happiness inside of him shine through as the smile on his face grew wider and wider before locking lips with the ninja once more
"Jackpot." And the space between them closed
