NINJAGO: Amateurs of Adulthood

"Yo, I'm home!" Kai called out into the monastery as he laid the bags of food on the kitchen table

"Looks like nobody's home." Wu spoke

"Nope, I'm here." Said a voice from the living room

The two men turned to see Nya laid out of the couch, scrolling through her phone

"Jay and Cole got back a while ago too." She smiled

"You were here and you didn't say "hi" back?" Kai whined as he threw himself onto the back of the couch

"I've been saying "hi" to you for 21 years, give me a break!" The black haired girl laughed

"Alright, then I guess you also want a break from this yakisoba I got you." Kai shrugged

"Wait wait wait!" Nya giggled, standing up to head to the table

Kai went to the bathroom to wash hands before headed to the boys room to get Jay and Cole

"Hey, get the hell up, I got food." Kai spoke before being stopped in his tracks at the scene before him

The two boys sat on Cole's bed as they held the small teddy bear at the same time. Kai quickly took notice of the Spiderman costume the animal wore and disregarded it just as fast

"I got food...weirdos..."

The two quickly jumped off the bed and headed to the kitchen, Cole, eager to eat his food, and Jay, ready to steal some

As they left, Kai opened the door a bit more and peered to the right. On the bed, Zane laid comfortably with his eyes closed, seemingly asleep. Kai sat down on his boyfriend's bed slowly, trying hard not to wake him, and slowly began to lay himself down next to him

"Hey, baby..." Kai whispered

"Hey, Love..." Zane smiled softly

"I got food."

"You know I would've gotten it for you if you wanted me to." Zane said with a small pout

"I know." Kai smiled

The two lovers laid in bed while their friends outside ate merrily in the other room

"Where's Lloyd?" Jay asked as he snatched an egg roll from Cole's box of twenty

"I don't actually know..." Nya spoke slowly, silently contemplating that fact that Lloyd could be with his boyfriend at that moment

The though made her laugh a bit as she spooned her ramen into her mouth with the smooth, wooden chop sticks

"What's funny?" Cole asked with a slight grin

"Nothing..." Nya spoke

The three ate with each other merrily before moving to the couch to watch a movie. Cole and Jay got comfy in a corner of the couch, while Nya laid wrapped up in a gray, velvety blanket in the opposite corner. Jay sat in Cole's lap leaned against his back. The ginger struggled to ignore the feeling of his friend's strong muscles pressed against him, but ultimately failed as soon as Cole wrapped his large arms around him

Jay ignored the heat that spread through his body and turned his attention to the film that had started on the TV.

They were a good 15 minutes into the new Little Mermaid movie when Kai and Zane emerged from their room to eat their portion of the food

"Wait wait wait, hold on. Is this that new movie?" Zane asked

"Yep, Little Mermaid." Nya spoke as she tilted her head back to make somewhat eye contact with him

"You guys promised we would watch together..." Zane pouted

"It's as together as we can get, don't act like y'all wasn't in there getting hot and heavy. The walls are thin." Cole spoke with a mischievous grin

"Shut up!" Kai sneered, giving Cole a sharp slap on the shoulder

"Ow! Damn bitch...!" Cole exclaimed

The large group of friends laughed loudly with each other until a familiar sound cut through the joyous sound

The overly slow sound of the front door opening caused silence to rush through the once lively room. Lloyd slid through the crack in the doorway silently before pushing said door shut as quietly as he could

"Oh-! Hey guys...!" Lloyd smiled awkwardly after stopping in his tracks at the sight of the other ninja. He expected someone to be there but usually Nya is the only one in the living room this late, he wasn't expecting everyone there at the same time.

Kai stared at the blonde angrily before raising his voice at once. "Lloyd, where the hell-"

"Hey, Lloyd!" Nya interrupted, "Kai got food but you should probably go wash up before you eat."

Lloyd was incredibly confused, but the two siblings shared a look that he instantly understood

She was saving his ass.

"Oh-! Yeah...! I'm gonna...I'm gonna go do that." Lloyd smiled as he threw up finger guns and left towards the bathroom

When the other ninja were sure the blonde was gone, Kai turned to Nya with anger in his eyes,

"Nya, what the hell was that?" The brunette asked furiously

"Look, Kai, sometimes...you gotta let stuff go. It's not always as bad as you think." The black haired girl spoke softly

"That's what you guys think. But this doesn't seem weird to you at all? This whole thing?" Kai exclaimed

"I mean, it is rather odd..." Zane mumbled before being spoon-fed some of his boyfriend's food

"Yeah, but...you heard Wu. Lloyd'll slip up eventually." Jay intervened

"Yeah, and while we waitin for that slip up, maybe y'all can shut the fuck up so we can watch this movie." Cole spoke with sass

Lloyd overheard the ninja's laughter at Cole's comment from inside the bathroom and sighed to himself. He'd have to thank Nya later for helping him out the way she did, they both knew when Kai got started on a rant, there was no stopping him.

Besides the stern talking-to he was probably going to get anyway, there were other things on his mind. He still couldn't believe he was going to get to hang out with Morro on his Con Day. The blonde giggled softly at his reflection in the mirror before burying his terribly red face in his hands.

Lloyd walked out of the bathroom quietly before dashing through the boy's room. Once he had closed the door the blonde ran to and collapsed onto his bed singing himself a happy tune

"My boyfriend's coming to Con Day! My boyfriend's coming to Con Day!" He laughed as he held his plush frog closer to his chest

Lloyd smiled as he drifted off to sleep, tomorrow's going to be perfect.
