*Chapter 2 Part 5* worthless sacrifice

A few hours before Max went to sleep in a cave

POV: Jenny

we were trying to break this crappy forcefield to no success. I hugged Anna as she was looking a bit upset. she hugged me back. "guys maybe we should go back it's like 6 PM already we tried but if Max is back he's probably worried." said Pat. "wow Pat is being nice that's new," said Jake as she was slapped by pat.

"g-guys?" said Ben stuttering. "yeah" I replied. "we put prestons body here right? said Ben his voice filled with fear. I look over to see Preston's grave all dug up with nobody inside. "WHAT THE F"CK" yelled Pat. "guys let's go back," said Jake. we all agree and get in the car as Ben drives us as close to the mountain as possible. 

we proceed to get to the top of the mountain as it's around 8 pm we choose to eat some food and go to bed. though we were worried... Max has not yet returned. "do you think something happened to Max?" asked Pat. "na he's strong," said Ben. we all proceed to lay in our sleeping bags dozing off to sleep telling little stories of embarrassing things. 

"hey babe, remember how you asked me to be your girlfriend," said Anna. "OMG SHUT UP!!!" I say laughing with her. "I thought you were home alone so you would open the door." I said. "yeah but my mum was home and she opened the door to you holding a big sign saying. want to be my girlfriend" said Anna as I was dying of embarrassment. 

"she was so confused and we both wanted to die inside" I added. we all laughed. as we continued sharing wacky stories.

POV: Ben

I couldn't focus anymore as my thoughts were all over the place. I stopped listening to what they were saying. I was worried about Max I was stressing a lot over Preston's body going missing. it can't move on its own. and then we are stuck in the dome. 

Max is gone and I'm just a mess... I just need sleep... but I can't UUUUHHHH THIS IS SO ANNOYING!!!... it doesn't help I'm starting to hear things. Max where are you...

A few hours forward. back to POV: max

I watched as it started to come into the cave. if I had to describe it id say. a tall figure with ruffly 9 feats... long legs and arms. eyes reder then blood and sharp fangs all over its mouth whiter than the moon. the rest of its body black and stretched-looking. 

it's then that I start crying. I realize it's the 3rd day... the day it likes to kill... I don't move. it keeps coming closer as I remember the crucifix in my bag. I quickly pick up my bag and hang it by my side my right hand inside. As the creature is standing right in front of me maybe a foot away.

it leans its head down to my shoulder as I am still in tears shaking. I feel its cold empty breath on my shoulder. "who do you choose..." it says. its dead and deep voice sending shivers true my body. screw it if I'm dying I'm dying trying.

I pull out the crucifix and put it on the creature's chest. "AAAAAAAHHH" it screams in its demonic voice. I soon scream as well as I feel pain in my chest as I drop the crucifix. "w-what the hell?" I question. it starts laughing. "you thought it would be that easy?" it questioned looking at me with murder in its eyes. 

w-wait if it hurts me it hurts him... no... no... NOOO... WHY ME!!!! the creature stares at me as I am defeated on the ground. it leaves within seconds running so fast it's horrifying. I wake up fetching and waste no time. we start going up the mountain. I wasn't lying this place is unreachable it's so hard to get up here.

after hours of struggle it was 4-5 PM I wasn't bothered to get the exact time. I slowly got to the top. in the center was a small pillar with something engraved in it. "i-its the key OMG it's here!!!" I say as I grab it. "wow you found it" said a familiar voice. I turn around with Fetch.
