The Cursed strings Vol1 (Did you choose?)

*Chapter 3 Part 1* confession

day 1/3 till the next death as a hall day has passed, with Max passed out and the others in distress as they beary what's left of Jenny's corps. everyone struggles to sleep after what they have seen and just waits for answers from Max when he wakes up.

POV: Ben

Max is still asleep and it's 11 am, really makes me wonder what he was doing. wait his bag? it looks more full than before. "guys is it just me or is Max's bag more full than before?" I point out to the others. "yeah your right" said Pat as he opened the bag.

"a book? and a crucifix along with a box? huh talk about random" said Pat. "move" said Jake pushing Pat to the side. "bruh!" said Pat. "look at this book Max told me he found it, it's about that demon that Prestion was talking about." said Jake.

"ok, so you're telling me" Pat started. "that by playing that campfire game we summoned an all-powerful demon? yeah maybe." said Jake. "oh we are doomed," said Pat. "it looks like Max was trying to find a way to save us, look at that page it's about the forcefield." I said. 

"wait if he knew something about it why didn't he tell us?" questions Pat. "I-I didn't want you to worry..." I heard Max's voice say. we all turned around and fetch jumped onto him licking him. "YOUR AWAKE!!!" I yell happy as I hug him. "what's this for and why? I'm confused" he said. "shut up you had us worried!!!" I argued. 

"alright can you explain this?" asked Pat. Max looked down in sadness as he griped his sleeping bag. "alright ill skip all the boring stuff and skip to what I know Shi Itami is a Demon who kills its pray by trapping it in a dome aka s force field, he kills one person every 3 days as he likes to play with his food. but this time is different..." said Max.

"what do you mean different?" questioned Pat. "normally he just kills off ALL his pray but in this case, he has chosen one person to fuse with but for that to happen all others have to die," said Max. "how do you know he chose someone?" asked Jake.

"cause he chose me," said Max as he lifted his hand to show a circle with one line inside on his wrist. "for every person that dies I gain one mark once the pentagon is full he will fuse with me," said Max. "wait but Preston and Jenny are dead why do you only Have 1?" I asked.

"Preston was working for the demon," max said. "WHAT" we all yelled confused. "how is that possible?" questioned Pat. "I'm not sure but I feel that he didn't die to cause A, he pretended to join the game or B, he is a demon or a demon controlling Preston aka using him as a result," said Max.

"what the hell man, alright is there any way to stop him?" asked Jake, "not that I know off but I do know a way to remove the force field at least I think," said Max, "you think?!?" yelled Pat. "it's better than nothing!" I argued. 

"wait weres Anna?" asked Max worried. "she... well she is outside... she isn't doing well..." I say as Max starts getting up. "I'm gonna talk to her you guys start packing we need to hurry," said Max as he left the Cabon.

POV: Max

I walked outside to see Anna sitting curled up into a ball at the edge looking into the distance towards the lake. I approach and sit next to her. I could see her eyes were red from crying. "I-Im gonna miss her," I say. "me too..." said Anna stuttering in her voice. "it's ok to feel pain... only this shouldn't be happening to us non of us deserve this not you, not me, not Ben, jake or pat not Jenny... we are just teenagers," I say trying to be comforting.

"why is this happening?..." asked Anna, I can't say it's happening cause of me that would be messed up... "we are just really unlucky..." I say. "yeah I guess..." said Anna as she began to sob more. "she's gone isn't she?" asks Anna, I nod my head and hug her as she cries... there's nothing anyone can say to make this easier.

there's so much we don't know yet such as why it wants to fuse with me or anyone for that matter...  and why it ate that head... god that's horrific to imagen. that's beside the point the goal is to get us the hell out of here, sure home is no better but it's better than being well fused with that thing for god now how long...

alright, I need to make a plan with the others... getting to the island in the center of the lake is the key but something tells me it's gonna be harder than that. after all this thing has proven it's not scared to show itself and to interfere... plus it's always listening... great...

"hey guys you ready to go?" asked Pat as Anna looked confused. "yeah," I say taking annas hand, we fill her in on the way, naturally avoiding telling her this is happing cause Shi wants to fuse with me. we decided to head down towards the lake. 

"alright so we gonna swim across," asked Ben. "I guess," said Jake. I notice something in the water and pull Ben back before he can jump in. "WAIT!!!" I yell, and everyone goes silent as I never yell. "what's wrong?" asked Pat. I go into my bag and grab some chicken, I throw it into the water.

the water starts bubbling as piranhas start devouring the chicken "Jesus nice save Max, but how do we get past it now?" asked Ben. "look over there!" said Jake. "it's a boat we could use it but it's on the other side of the lake," said Pat. "it's better than nothing lets get going!" said Anna.
