CHAPTER 7: Workload

Michelle came to work earlier than usual the next day. She was nervously waiting for her boss at Jiyoon's desk when the Chairman finally arrived. She swiftly followed behind him and soon reached his office, she knocked on the door
"Come in" She slowly walked in and bowed deeply
    "Good Morning Sir"
    "Good Morning Michelle"
She remained silent for a short while before quickly blurting out loudly
    "I wanna apologize to you, Sir"
   "For what exactly," He said nonchalantly
  Michelle flashed a glare at him before saying to herself
      "This guy is so full of himself, he wants me to go into detail as if  he doesn't know what I am talking about"
   "You're wasting my time Miss Parker"
She was so frustrated that she felt like slapping him
  "I want to apologize to you for the other day, I was in a bad mood and I was insulted even though you didn't do anything wrong, I am sorry Sir" She bowed again since it is a sign of respect in Korean.
    He looked at her for a brief moment seemingly observing her before he went back to his usual seriousness
   "Alright "
Michelle was shocked because she was expecting a scolding or something worse but all he did was look at her
      "That's it"
"What? Were you expecting anything else "
     "Of course not Sir"
Just at that moment she heard a knock on the door and Mrs. Han walked in, She slightly bowed 
      "Should I take her to the office Sir"
He nodded his head lightly and Mrs. Han seemed to get the message
      "Please come with me, Miss Parker"
Michelle didn't say another word and just followed her, they soon reached an office not too far from the Chairman's own.
Mrs. Han walked in first with Michelle trailing behind her before she announced
   "This is your new office, Miss Parker"
   "Just call me Michelle Mrs. Han"
  "Okay, Michelle"
She smiled in approval before slowly walking around to look around her office, Mrs. Han saw the excited look on Michelle's face and quietly walked out to allow her to enjoy her surroundings.
    The office was quite big, almost too big for an ordinary assistant, the interior wasn't fancy but elegant at the same time, from the shelves to the small red couch, everything in the room was perfectly matched together in white with touches of red and black. Michelle then stalked towards the desk and sat on the spinning chair 
"This feels so nice and comfy more like the office of an executive, l'm one lucky girl" She continued her tour for a little while before getting to work.
     It was already evening time when Jiyoon walked into Michelle's office since she hadn't seen her friend all day, She couldn't help but admire the beautiful decor
"Wow your office looks so cool, it's more like…….." She paused when she noticed Michelle didn't even know she was talking, She banged her fist on the table to get her attention
      "Hey Mitch, I'm talking to you"
   "Jesus Christ, Jiyoon do you always have to yell at me? You startled me"
    "You weren't paying attention and here I was rambling, What are you so busy doing anyways"
Michelle sighed looking exhausted
    "Mr. New Boss has given me the perfect punishment, I thought he had forgiven me but I was so wrong. So many files and documents have piled up here for months but I have to arrange them all in one day, this is so unfair"
   "He asked you to finish it all today!"
   Michelle nodded in reply while she placed her right hand on her cheeks
    "Well, just do it then"
Michelle was expecting to be consoled or at least helped but she was just as unconcerned as her boss
    "Is that all you're going to say!"
  "What do you expect me to say"
  "A little bit of help would be nice"
  "I can't, Minjae is coming to pick me up and besides you brought this upon yourself so face it"
  Michelle couldn't believe Jiyoon was abandoning the ship when it started to sink, To think she gave her advice on what to do before she could say anything else Jiyoon was already out the door.
Michelle clicked her tongue angrily
   "I can't believe she just did that"

   Michelle checked her watch, it was already 9 pm
   "At least I have finished everything but how do I get a cab at this time of the night"
      "I can give you a ride home if you      want"
     Michelle was startled by the voice she heard and quickly turned around only to see her boss standing near the door, he walked forward with his usual straight face but he talked with a soft tone.
    "That's the least you can do"
She said to herself before looking at him, On a normal day she would have said no but it was too late at night to walk home
    "Yes Sir and Thank you"
   They both headed to the lift and soon reached the last floor. The bodyguards opened the door as soon as they neared the car and both entered
