Chapter Thirteen

AFTER eating dumiretso na kami ni Monique sa school. Bitbit ko ang paboritong shawarma at milk tea ni Lyric, i'm on my way to her office. Plano ko munang dumiretso doon at bitbitin ang mga gamit niya tapos sabay na kami pupunta sa room. Naramdaman ko agad ang mga paro paro sa tiyan because of that thought. Bilis ko namang kiligin? Damn these butterflies

Agad nabura ang ngiti sa mga labi ko when Glenn come out of Lyric's office. Nagkatinginan kami tas unti unti siyang lumapit sa akin. Napatigil pala ako sa paglalakad kanina diko namalayan. Nang makalapit siya sa akin he hug me at nakipagbeso sa akin.

"Lijan. Where are you heading to? This is not room 303 of the Business Administration Building.." I want to ignore him because I don't really want to talk to him. Sa mansion nga buti at minsan lang sila pumunta doon kaya doon ako umuuwi. If I am given an option to not see them again or not talk to them I'll choose both. "Lijan.."

"Because obviously I'm not heading there. Can you please get off of me? We're not close, stop acting like we are." he smirked and put both of his hands up. "So annoying.." i was about to walk past him when he held my arms

"Where are you going?"

"It's none of your business Mr. Andrico." iwinaksi ko ang kamay niya kaya nabitawan niya ako.

"It is because you're courting my girlfriend.." I sarcastically laugh and look at him mockingly.

"She's no one's girlfriend, Sir. You're just one of his colleagues, business partner and a suitor like me." he held his jaw and shook his head. Gusto kong burahin ang ngisi sa mukha niya.

"You courting her is ridiculous. How sure are you na sasagutin ka niya? You're wasting your time, Lijan." kinalma ko ang sarili ko because he's really getting into my nerves. The acidity(audacity) of this man

"Did you ask her if you have a chance?" mas lumapad ang ngiti sa mga labi niya.

"Yes. At alam mo ba kung ano ang sagot niya? Meron daw. What about you?" edi sana all. Kamusta naman sakin na nireject na ininsulto pa?

"Wala." He suppressed his laugh by covering his mouth using his hands. "And that's where courting comes in. Do you know what's the purpose of courting someone? To show them your sincerity. To prove yourself worthy of their yes. To serve and love them even without something in return. When you start courting them, dapat itinatak mo na sa isip mo na you have a 50/50 chance. So you must court them even if there is no certainty na magiging kayo." I'm seriously looking at him at ganon din siya sa akin. "That's the sole purpose of courting, Mr. Andrico. Your father forgot to tell you that.." nagkasalubong ang mga kilay niya when I mentioned his father.

"You don't talk about our father like that, Lijan Andrico!" nginisihan ko lang siya. "If i were you i'll stop courting Lyric. You stand no chance, masasaktan ka lang!" lumapit ako sa kanya at nakipagtitigan sa kanya.

"If you're saying that in hopes of me backing off.. Dream on."

"I'm just worried about you, Lijan.." I can see the pity and worry in his eyes.

"Worry na ako ang sasagutin ni Lyric instead of you? Well yes you should 'cause I'll make her fall in love with me. May the best man win, Kuya.." tinapik ko siya sa balikat as i walk past him.

I calmed myself first before entering Lyric's office. Sumalubong sa akin ang lamig ng office niya. The combination of air freshener and her scent filled my nostrils. She's facing her laptop with her glasses on. Damn hot. Tumikhim ako to get her attention but she just continues on typing and didn't even look at me

"What did Glenn do here, Lyric? Nakasalubong ko siya papalabas siya ng office mo.." Lyric ignored me and continued doing her thing. "Lyric.."

"What, Miss Andrico? Can't you see I'm very busy so stop bothering me. And it's Miss Ricafort and Sir Andrico for you! We are your professor, show some respect!" she says without looking at me.

"Fine i'm s-sorry, miss. I bought your favorite. Where should I put it?" puno kase ang lamesa niya ng mga papel at gamit. Baka matapon pa doon malintikan ako. Hindi siya sumagot that's why I remained standing and patiently waited for her to finish her work. She clicked her tongue then she looked at me

"Ako ang nahihirapan sa ginagawa mo, Miss Andrico! Just put those on the table and you can leave!" nilapag ko ang mga binili ko pero di ako umalis. "Now, leave" umiling ako

"I'll wait for you, Ma'am. Ako na magbibitbit ng gamit mo.." she massaged her forehead and sighed.

"We already talked about this, Andrico. I told you to stop dahil wala kang mapapala sa akin! Stop pestering me, pwede?" grabe naman. Pamemeste pala tong ginagawa ko?

"But you're just letting my brother court you? And you even said that both of you have a chance to be together? You're so unfair." mas nagsalubong ang mga kilay niya. Pareho na kaming galit pero mas galit siya

"So what? That's what I want. It's my life. I can decide for myself. I just answered his question if he has a chance. Wala akong sinabing may chance maging kami!"

"It's completely the same! Be fair and just let me pester you if you think that's what I'm doing. Just wait for me to stop if that ever happens, which I'm afraid will not.." She closed her laptop and put it on her laptop sleeve. Kumuha siya ng tatlong makakapal na libro at pinagpatong patong yon. Lumapit ako at nagpresentang bitbitin ang mga gamit niya. And ladies and gentlemen napadaing na naman ako and you already know why. Ipinatong niya din ang laptop sa ibabaw bago kunin ang mga binili ko for her.

We then proceeded to room 303. Andon na lahat ng kaklase ko pati sila Monique and Clef. After placing her things ay dumiretso na ako sa gitna nila Mon at Clef. Lyric then started her lecture. She's my favorite teacher, not just because I love her. Magaling kase talaga siyang magturo, she's passionate about it. Konting explanation lang pero kuha na agad namin ano ang ipinupunto niya. Kaya kahit yung mga hindi masyadong magaling sa klase ay nakakapasa sa exam niya. Ganon siya kagaling sa pagtuturo. And i admire her for that

Tatlong oras ang klase niya and all I did was listen to her voice while she's teaching. May times na magkakatitigan kami and I will smile at her, her reaction will not change. Naka-professor mode siya, that's how professional she is. Kahit ata kindatan ko siya walang epekto e. Sakit

After 3 hours uwian na. Nauna na sila Clef and Mon dahil alam nilang may practice pa ako. Imbes na sumabay sa kanilang lumabas ay nagpaiwan muna ako para samahan si Lyric. Kumindat muna silang dalawa sa akin bago umalis.

After all of them left sinarado ko muna ang pinto at dahan-dahang lumapit sa kanya. Pumwesto ako sa likod niya and i sniffed her scent

"I admire how you teach us, love.."
