Chapter Nineteen

Papunta na kami sa venue ng ball. Kasama ko ngayon si Clef na kasalukuyang nagra-rant kung bakit daw hindi ako ang partner ni Lyric. Hindi ko na lang pinansin ang mga pinagsasabi niya at sinubukan ibahin ang pinaguusapan namin.

Sinubukan kong ibahin ang usapan sa pamamagitan ng pagsingit ng pangalan ni Spade hehe. "Anong suot ni Spade? Nasan na raw siya?" She instantly smiled. See? So whipped.

"I'm excited to see my girlfriend, Spade. I bet she looks hot with her suit on.." Clef said, biting her lips. Manyak. Kung may minor man dito wag niyong tutularan si Clef.

Anyways, I'm dressed in a black tuxedo with a crisp white dress shirt and a black bow tie with a matching black mask na may balahibo ng manok(balahibo ba yon? huhu basta yung buntot nila). While Clef's wearing a sapphire blue fitted, floor length gown. Hindi naman mahigpit sila tita sa dress code so i'm sure okay lang kung mag-suit kami ni Spade.

"Enjoy the moment while it lasts. After these balik na naman sa normal, LDR na naman kayo." I said, teasing her. She glared at me and rolled her eyes.

"Di mo sure, Jan. Plano kong matulog sa condo niya tonight. I miss my baby so much!" I grin at her which makes her frown. "What, Andrico?"

"Please paki-cover ng love bites. We have classes tomorrow.." Clef pouted.

"Actually wala akong planong itago ang love bites. You know, pinaghirapan yon ni Spade.. So bakit ko ikakahiya?" I looked at her in disbelief and she just chuckled at my reaction. Sure ako idea yan ni Spade, sana all minamarkahan.

Sa loob ng isang linggo nung nakaraan i can say that i made small improvements. Like Lyric already expecting me bringing her lunch, pati yung pagbitbit ko ng gamit niya after class. Ako din naghahatid sa kanya pauwi, all of those things. It's not really an improvement but at least she's not pushing me away unlike dati. Kaya i'm really disappointed nung kay Clef ko pa nalaman na si Glenn pala partner niya for this event. Hindi man lang ako sinabihan. Sakit talaga mahalin ng babaeng yon

As we arrived at the venue, I saw Spade waiting for us by the entrance. I know it's her dahil pamilyar ang tindig niya. Spade is wearing a gorgeous black dress with a slit that hugged her curves, naks parang hindi bakla. Nilapitan ko siya at mahina siyang binatukan.

"Why are you wearing a dress? May slit pa? We both agreed na suit ang isusuot natin! I didn't cover my tattoo, you asshole!" Spade chuckled.

"Sa pagkakaalam ko, we both agreed on wearing a dress, bro. Kala ko seryoso yon, nagbibiro ka pala?" Spade smirked. Loko loko talaga, alam ko sinadya niya to. "Dont worry about your tats.. ngayong gabi lang naman e. Hindi ka naman makikilala ng mga nandito kase mostly mga businessman ang invited, and besides you're wearing a mask.." i sighed. Spade has a point, oh well bahala na. It's not like I'm committing a crime by showing my tattoo. After swapping our clothes in the comfort room we already headed inside.

"Where's my partner, asshole?" Iritado akong inaayos ang slit ng suot ko dahil nakakailang. Mas nairita pa ako dahil tumatawa pa ng mapangasar ang kumag

"You're so excited, my friend! Sorry to burst your bubbles but it's not Lyric.." I rolled my eyes, I know..

The three of us made our way inside, taking in the luxurious decorations and the beautifully dressed attendees. Spade is right, mga businesman ang halos andito. Hindi na ako magugulat kung nandito si Lucas at si Lolo Jaime since i think they're also close sa mga Benett.

Habang naglalakad papunta sa table na naka-assign sa amin ni Clef, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw a woman standing in front of me, looking stunning in a maroon gown with her hair styled elegantly. I can't really tell who she is because she's wearing a mask. Tinapik ako ni Spade

"Meet your partner, Jan.." the woman then slowly removes her mask, revealing her face.

"Ma'am Benett!" Spade smirked, she wiggled her eyebrow up and down. Tarantado

"Surprise! You're fucking welcome, dude!" tumawa na parang demonyo si Spade bago lumapit kay Clef. Demonyo talaga

"You don't want to be my partner, Jan?" agad akong umiling. I don't want her to get the wrong idea, but as much as possible I want to keep my distance from her. I'm courting Lyric and it's natural to avoid other girls right? But well, andito na e. I'll just be Ma'am Benett's partner for tonight

"No, ma'am. I'm just surprised. I didn't know that you know my friend, Spade" Ma'am Benett smiled.

"Well, I don't, my father does. Ignacio's are known in the business world. Business partner ni daddy si sir Atlas Ignacio.." Tito Atlas is Spade and Monique's father. Speaking of Monique, I haven't heard from her for a while.

"That explains why.." I replied, I took her arm and linked it through mine. "You look stunning by the way.."

"Thank you, Jan. You look quite dashing yourself." She adjusted her shawl, revealing the intricate beading on her gown. I couldn't help but glance around the room, noticing the various gowns and suits worn by the guests at oo na. I'm looking for her. My eyes fell upon Lyric and my heart skipped a beat. She looked breathtaking in her elegant black gown, her hair cascading down her back in soft waves. I quickly averted my gaze, not wanting to be caught staring at her.

As we reached our assigned table, I pulled out Ms. Benett's chair and helped her sit down. I took my seat beside her, glancing around the room once more. My eyes met Lyric's, As soon as our eyes met, I felt a chill run down my spine. Lyric's expression was unreadable, and her eyes seemed to be piercing through me. I turned my gaze away from Lyric and tried to focus on Ms. Benett. She was engaging in light conversation with Spade and Clef, but my mind was elsewhere. I couldn't shake off the feeling that Lyric was still watching me.

Spade leaned over and whispered to me, making sure na kaming dalawa lang ang makakarinig sa sasabihin niya "I don't want to keep your hopes up but Lyric keeps on glancing at you. Grabeng bantay yan.. Dapat kasi kayo na lang ang magpartner" i sighed.

"Thanks for the heads up, Spade," I whispered back. "Siya sisihin niyo..'' I replied. I took a glass of wine from the table and took a sip. Naguusap sila Ma'am Benett, Spade at Clef but I'm not engaging myself in their conversation. Wala ako sa mood. I took a quick glance at Lyric and Glenn, dang, Lyric is laughing while talking to Glenn. Lucky bastard

I excused myself from the table and went to the balcony to get some fresh air, needing some time alone to gather my thoughts. I leaned on the railing, staring out into the night sky, lost in my thoughts.

"Jan.."
