Little secret

Jisoo shakes as she fumbles to get ready, she keeps looking at the clock again and again. As each minutes pass by, her heart sinks a bit. Less than 24 hours. This is her last chance, to do what she has to do and get away from here. But the scary part is, Jisoo herself doesn't know what she has to do.

"Babe are you done?" Taehyung walks in fully dressed. He stands behind Jisoo and checks her out in the mirror. He gently plants a kiss on her neck and this sends shiver down Jisoo's body. In just a few hours, she'll go far away from this person. That feeling combined with paranoia and confusion is haunting Jisoo's mind

"Yeah, I am done. Let's go" she replies

As they pull up to their mansion, Jisoo silently prays to the sky, in just 24 hours everything can either make or break for her. Taehyung opens her door and they walk towards the entrance

Taehyung informed them of their arrival, Irene's father didn't want to see him after what he did to her but he agreed for the sake of their business.

Just as they enter, they are greeted by Irene's mother.

"Oh, you've arrived" she says looking at Taehyung. Then her gaze falls on Jisoo

"Umm, hi, I didn't know that you were gonna come. Welcome" she says and hugs Jisoo

Jisoo still doesn't know the meaning behind her warmth, she is the reason why her daughter is hurt like this ut there is no sign of hatred towards Jisoo

Is she that good of an actress or does she not care at all?

"I am sorry, everything was decided so fast that I couldn't inform you of her arrival here" Taehyung says formally

"No, it's completely fine. Come inside" she welcomes them in

Jisoo's legs shake while entering the house, more than two decades has passed since she ever heard about her father, all the vengence, hatred and disgust for that man has been penting up in her heart till now. She always thought about where he was, how his life was without his daughter, how he lived and how that she looks at the mansion, it confirms everything she has thought about him. He has been living just fine with his new family while his own blood has been struggling to even survive

It should've been her mother's house, it should've been her mother opening the gates instead of this woman, it should've been pictures of her mother on these walls, it should've been Jisoo who would've been Taehyung's fiance all along. Everything was stolen from her

As they both sit down, Irene's father comes down the stairs. Jisoo can't keep hold of her emotions much longer, but she tries her best to get a hold of herself.

He looks at both of them with an expression that doesn't seem very pleasant. Taehyung stands up and holds his hand forward for a handshake but he doesn't bother to do so. He just sits down beside his wife, legs crossed and looking at them in a judgemental gaze

"So I see you've brought a guest with you" he says

Jisoo looks at Taehyung, was it a bad decision to come here?

"I didn't know that my fiance wasn't welcome here" Taehyung replies

"The one that took the place of my daughter?" he says with a very demeaning tone

Taehyung clenches his fist at this, the audacity of him to speak about Jisoo like that after what his daughter did

Jisoo holds his hands and looks at her father

"We've all taken someone elses' place at some point in our lives, haven't we?" she says as her gaze shifts to his wife

"What do you know about our life? If a man can let go of his childhood love for a girl he has known for 3 months, imagine how he'll leave you" he replies

"I have come here to discuss our business and not my private life. And after what Irene did, you should be the last person to blame Jisoo" Taehyung replies

"I don't believe my daughter would ever do that. But since you are so sure about it, I suggest Irene quit from your company and we break our business partnership. Isn't that what you're here for?" Irene's father says

"It doesn't matter what you believe or not, the truth will not change. And yes, I am here to break out partnership, I can't keep on doing business with someone who takes zero accountability of our failure" Taehyung says

"What has gotten on you two? You've raised Taehyung like your child, why are you being like this? And Taehyung, don't break things off like this. Our family has always adored you like our own" she says

"I am sorry, I really respect you two but I don't think that i can proceed with what you expect me to do" Taehyung replies

"Don't let your emotions get the best of you" she says and looks at Jisoo

"Lets go upstairs and leave them alone. I am sure that they'll come to a conclusion" she says

"no, she'll stay here" Taehyung says holding Jisoo's hands

"Come on Taehyung, you can trust me" she replies

Taehyung has known Irene's mother for a long time, a wise, timeless woman with huge amount of wisdom. He lets go of Jisoo's hands

"By the time we come back, you two better be on good terms" she says and takes Jisoo upstairs

As they walk up, Jisoo looks at how unbothered she is about her, she desn't have even a pinch of anger towards jisoo

"Aren't you angry at me?" Jisoo says

"Who? me?" she replies

"You don't have to pretend anymore. You can show your emotions towards me" Jisoo replies

"You remind me of me" she says and leads her to a room

The room is locked and she rummages through her keys to open it.

"What? Are you going to lock me in?" Jisoo says smilingly

"No, I am going to let you in on a little secret"
