Jisoo slowly enters the room after her, the entire place is dark, she can't see a single thing. Irene's mother quickly turns the lights on and closes the door.
Jisoo doesn't know why but her heart starts racing, something doesn't feel right.
"Are you really who the letter said you are?" Irene's mother says while looking at her
Jisoo steps back "I don't know what you mean" she replies
"Now that I look at you up close, you really have a resemblance with your mother" she says
Jisoo fumbles at this and knocks a box beside her "I am sorry?" she says
"I know your truth, I mean-- I" Irene's mother can't hold back her emotions and rushes to hug her
She squeezes her tight as if she has been hoping to do so for a while.. Jisoo pushes her away. "What letter? What is this all about?" she asks
"Jisoo, I knew your mother, we were best friends back in college. I know you are here to seek revenge for her, I know everything" she says
Jisoo finally understands what is happening. Her secret is out and that even to her worst enemy. She reflexly starts smirking
"Oh, so I see that the one who sent me the letter lied. I thought they gave me 24 hours but that bustard already revealed it all?" Jisoo says
"So what are you going to do? Go downstairs and show them everything? Reveal the truth? Save your crying ass daughter's face? Arrange a lovely wedding for your desparate daughter and my fiance?" she adds
Irene's mother stands there stunned at her words.. "I am not going to do any of that. I just want to talk to you, about the past" she replies
"So you want to rub salt on my wounds? Talk about the past huh? What is that gonna do? Bring my dead mother back? Undo all the years of misery? What is talking about the past going to do? You got exactly what you wanted. You got the man, you got the family, you got the money. And for your selfish means, you ruined my mother. If I am not wrong, Taehyung's mother fueled this extra marital affair between you and my father right? If that bitch had the guts to destroy our family, why didn't she have the guts to write her abck? Why didn't she answer her letter? For years my mother was alone in Korea, she had no one by her side, just a tiny little daughter who she had to feed, no money nothing . How do you think my life has been all these years? Do you know how I have survived till now?" Jisoo screams and starts sobbing
"And even now, you've won. You've got me, go ahead, tell Taehyung everything. Tell him that I lied to him, that I betrayed his trust. You ruined my mother and now you have the chance to ruin me. GO AHEAD, I AM NOT SCARED OF YOU OR TAEHYUNG. I had to do this for my mother, at least I tried" Jisoo falls on her knees
Irene's mother starts crying as well, she kneels beside Jisoo.
"Do you know who sent me the box?" she says quietly
Jisoo looks at her "No I don't" she replies
"I'll try finding the person, we need to stop them from sending this to everyone. I have already burnt mine. I hope you've kept yours at a place where no one can find it" she says
Jisoo stares at her in confusion, her cheeks wet from all the tears
Irene's mother then looks at the floor, unable to maintain eye contact
"You said you have 24 hours, right? Do what you want by that time. Meanwhile I'll try finding the one who sent these to us and borrow you some more time. Now get up, they are waiting for us downstairs" she says and helpd Jisoo up
