Walking down the dimly lit hallways, you glanced around at your surroundings. The bland grey walls with small marks of dull, red brick showing was something you had grown familiar with over the past year. The dark, wooden doors on either side of the walls each leading to their own room. Whether it be of importance, or completely useless. Each room had something.Thinking for a brief moment, you pondered why you were suddenly called for an 'important meeting' with your boss. It didn't take rocket science to figure out that it was another mission. But upon being called earlier in the day, you weren't given any detail as to what you'd have to do. Thus, leaving you completely confused.
Despite how confident you were that it was another mission, there was always the chance that it could be something else. For all you knew, it could be a skills observation. You hadn't taken one of those in a while, and each Agent is required to take one every three months. However, that thought was quickly dismissed as it had only been a month since your last observation.
Another idea crossed your mind. One you wouldn't be happy with if it were true. As unlikely as it is, maybe you were being called because you had to train a new recruit.
It was always a rare occasion and was normally something you didn't have to do. You'd only been called in to train newbies once or twice before. As much as you had hated it, you didn't have much of a choice. However, the training didn't matter as not even a month later the 'newbies' were fired due to almost leaking confidential information. Which, resulted in two weeks of your time wasted by training complete idiots.
Nonetheless, you didn't bother to get your hopes up. For all you knew, you could've done something 'bad' without realising it and been put on cleaning duty. Which is never fun.
Rounding the corner, you let out an irritated sigh. Not knowing why or what you were called for being more irritating than you'd realised.
Reaching the door to your boss's office, you quickly brushed the invisible dirt off your trousers, taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm your irritated mindset. Whilst also trying to compose yourself.
Knocking on the wooden door, you waited for a moment before hearing the slightly muffled voice of your boss permitting you to enter.
Wanting to be in and out as soon as possible, you wasted no time heading inside the office. Quickly closing the door behind you before turning your attention to the man sitting in a black office chair ahead of you. Your bored and unamused expression quickly changed to one of confusion upon noticing another familiar figure in the room.
Giving your boss a questioning look, you opened your mouth to speak. "What's this about?" You questioned rather quickly. Confusion and slight curiosity filled you as to why another figure was in the room with you.
He motioned towards one of the two seats behind his desk. One of which was already occupied by the blonde. "Take a seat. I'll explain everything." His serious yet calm tone was already telling you that this wasn't going to be about something stupid.
Obliging, you hastily made your way to the free seat. Giving the blonde to your left a quick glance before adverting your attention back to your boss.
"First of all, I want to thank the two of you for coming here on such short notice." Eyes glancing between the two of you as he spoke. "I've got a mission for the both of you."
'No shit. It doesn't take rocket science to figure that out now does it.'
Seeing your unamused look, the blonde beside you shot you a subtle glare. Her way of telling you not to blow this or say something 'irrational and stupid'. Her words, not yours.
