A/N: I'm back baby! And so is this fanfic! (つ≧▽≦)つI've been absolutely filled with motivation to write for weeks, so I might end up writing the next chapters as fast as Sonic, but we'll see.
Hope this chapter is good for now. I'm going to start writing the next one right away!
Enjoy! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
"Here. It's got all the blueprints and the notes," Carlos says as he hands the documents to Boss.
"Thank you, you two. As always, you carried out the mission with minimal flaws," he says, a little less monotone than usual.
"Yeah. Yeah, I get it," I roll my eyes. "Can I go now? Otherwise I'll be late."
"Yes certainly," Boss nods before he walks off back to his office. Or at least, that's where I guess he's going.
I pick up my hero case from the floor and quickly begin to walk out of the training room.
I want to get to the train station quickly, Himari said she'd pick me up. But it wasn't because of that. I'm actually curious as to what she did during her internship and how it went. Which is a first.
I walk out the doors and stand on the porch for a minute as I realise I'll have to deal with being around my noisy-ass classmates. Boy, was that something I definitely didn't miss.
"So, I guess I'll see you whenever?" I say and turn a little to face Carlos.
"Only until we go on another mission together. Unless you decide to come and visit me someday," says Carlos, giving me a somewhat hopeful look.
"As temping as that sounds, I don't think I'll have much time. Though, I might surprise you for a visit in the summer," I hum, a small grin etched its way onto my face.
"If you do, bring buttercup with you. I haven't seen her in ages."
"Yeah, I will. But don't blame me if she nags you to show her around."
Carlos chuckles and lightly shakes his head. "I won't."
"See you?" I ask, a soft, genuine smile on my face.
"Yeah," he says quietly, his voice almost a whisper.
I give him a small nod, turn around, and begin to walk down the steps.
"Y/N?" he calls. I stop in my place on the third to last step and look back at him.
"Yeah?" I ask. I raise a confused brow.
"Remember what I said the day we scouted out the building? About Himari enjoying her time at U.A."
"What about it?" I asks, curious as to where he's going with this.
"I think you should too," he says.
"What?"
"I know you originally became an agent because you wanted to find your mother. But eventually, you accepted the fact that she's gone."
"After that, you had the option to quit the organisation and live a normal life. But, you were so used to fighting and using guns, that you just couldn't give that up anymore."
"But now that you're at U.A.. You get to live a mostly normal life while still having the opportunity to fight. Yes, you may not get to use grenades or guns, but at least you're fighting legally. That's more than I can say."
I avert my eyes away from his and to the ground. Why was he saying this all of a sudden? Why is he being so soft? Why am I actually considering what he's saying?
