"Mommy!" Enid cried, bumping into the corner of the wall, rushing to the living room. Marilyn looked up. "Mommy..."
"What's wrong, darling?" The red head pet the blonde's hair down, "Did you need something?"
Enid shook her head, laying it down on the woman's thigh. "Hurts."
"Oh? What hurts?"
"The lights hurt." Enid mumbled, closing her eyes.
"The lights? Do you wanna take a nap?" The woman picked up the werewolf, cradling her against her chest. "It might make you feel better."
"Mm hmm..." Enid nodded lightly, prompting the pair to move to her bedroom. Laying the little down, Marilyn backed up, closing the curtain to the room. They were sheer, so not very good for blocking out light, but it helped a bit.
Sitting down on the edge of the bed, Thornhill stroked her daughter's forehead, watching as the little furrowed her eyebrows in pain every now and then, turning her head to the side. Eventually, with a frustrated huff, Enid opened her eyes and let out a dejected whimper.
"Too bright!" She whined, reaching out for Marilyn, who scooped her into her lap. The caregiver held her in her arms, tucking Enid's face into her neck.
"Oh sweetie. What can I do to help, hmm?"
The blonde didn't reply, nuzzling as close to her mother as physically possible. Wishing that she'd bought better curtains, Marilyn stood up with the little in her arms. She carried Enid to the kitchen, where her phone was on the countertop. Managing to balance her daughter in one arm, Thornhill video called Weems.
"Oh, to what do I owe the pleasure of this call?" Larissa was feeding Wednesday, laying against her couch.
"Hey, so do you know what this is?" Pointing the camera towards Enid, who whimpered when the ambient noise of the call made it to her ears, "She said the light hurts her, but I don't know what to do."
"It's a migraine, Wednesday gets them all the time, unfortunately." Larissa told her, "Do you have a dark place to put her?"
"Larissa, I'm a plant biologist, my house is full of natural sunlight." Marilyn reminded the woman, "Do you mind if I drop her off at your place for the night?"
"I don't mind at all, maybe we can drink a glass of wine while you're here." The shapeshifter offered, moving the breastfeeding girl over.
The red head nodded, "That sounds good."
"Okay, I'll see you girls soon." Larissa hung up the call. Enid moaned quietly, not wanting to move much more than she was.
"Let's head out, they have a place for you to rest." Grabbing a blanket from Enid's room, she draped it over the girl's head, walking outside. With the bundle of Enid in her arms, Marilyn walked quickly through the long corridors all the way to Weems' apartment. She knocked on the door, and Larissa answered in an instant, a very sulky Wednesday in her arms. The little had a sheen of milk around her lips, and had clearly just been pried from the woman's breast.
"Oh, poor sweetheart." Weems clucked her tongue, looking at the werewolf. "Put her in the cave."
The shapeshifter gestured to Wednesday's teenager room. Marilyn took her daughter down the hallway and into the delightfully dark room. She felt Enid's body loosen up a bit just by being in the dark space, and she took off the girl's shoes.
"Here, sweetie. This'll help."
Thornhill lay Enid down in the bed, tucking her in. On the nightstand next to her was a big bowl, presumably from Weems wanting to keep the room vomit-free.
