Larissa hummed as she placed the large blanket into the washing machine. Wednesday was in the living room studying for her test in herbology, so the woman decided to get some laundry done and a few other chores. It couldn't have been an hour before she heard a crash come from the other room.

Rushing into the shared space, Larissa glanced around looking for her little trouble maker. Spotting the notebook Wednesday was using on the floor next to a pile of dirt, she rolled her eyes and picked it up. Wednesday was nowhere in sight, making the tall woman shake her head.

"Wednesday? Where did you go?" Larissa called out, placing the book on the table. A bump behind the couch brought her attention to the small gap. Walking over there, she bent over to see behind it. "Wednesday?"

The shapeshifter got the shock of her life when she spotted her daughter. The girl had soil covering her mouth, cheeks and the front of her white school shirt. She grinned up at her caregiver, revealing her dirt-covered teeth.

Weems gasped. "Sweetheart, no! That's dirty!"

Rolling her eyes, the little picked up another handful. She tried to shove it in her mouth, but her caregiver was faster. Prying the dirt from Wednesday's hands, Larissa scooped her up by the underarms, holding her at an arm's length to avoid getting soil on her pristine suit.

"Wha... why...?"

"Mmm!" The little giggled, holding out her dirty hands. "Mama try?"

"No, thank you."

Carrying her daughter to the bathroom, Weems set her down in the tub, figuring she couldn't get anything important dirty there.

"Now then, what exactly were you doing, missy?"

"Science!" Wednesday smiled up at the woman, proudly showing her teeth and hands again. "For class?" She phrased it as a question.

Sighing, Weems pinched the bridge of her nose. She loved her daughter but she can get into some troubling situations when she's left to her own devices. Taking her phone out, she quickly shot a photo to Marilyn. She captioned it, "This is your fault." And sent it, placing the phone on the counter.

"I will get an A." Wednesday huffed, with her arms crossed, "Be happy, Mama,"

"I will be happy when you are squeaky clean again." Larissa carefully peeled Wednesday's white shirt from her, tossing it into a hamper that was by the door. The little shivered, crossing her arms over her bare chest as her tights and skirt were quickly removed too.

She splashed her feet excitedly when Weems turned the tap on, demanding bubbles. Her caregiver complied, and soon enough the water was up to her chest with bubbles up to her chin.

"Bubbles!" She squealed, scooping some up in her palm. Holding them out to Larissa, she innocently asked, "Want some?"

At the bubble/dirt mixture her little was offering, the shapeshifter wrinkled her nose. She filled a small jug up with some water, pouring it over Wednesday's hair and making her whine.

"Sorry, sweetie, but if you're going to get dirty, you have to let Mama clean you."

Pouting, Wednesday poured all her focus onto the bubbles, sculpting various shapes and trying to draw shapes on the tiled wall with them. She huffed when she felt Weems pour more water over her head, and spluttered furiously when her face was attacked with a washcloth.

"Mama!" Wednesday whined as she almost waterboarded herself. Weems tsked, scrubbing lightly at the dirt that was on her lips. "Stop..."

"In a moment, darling. You really shouldn't be eating that stuff. It's plant food, not human food." The shapeshifter explained, as she wrung the rag out until it ran clear.

"No. I eat it too." Wednesday argued, she clearly just showed she could, so why was she still getting told that she couldn't.

"Baby, just because you can eat it doesn't mean you should."

"Oh, like the rat poison?"

Weems nodded, not enjoying the memory of finding her daughter with a blue mouth. Before she responded her phone dinged, turning her attention towards the noise.

":( poor plant baby"

Rolling her eyes, the shapeshifter quickly replied with "Your quiz, your fault."

Putting her phone down on the countertop, she scanned Wednesday for any more dirt. She couldn't spot any, so she pulled the plug and lifted the girl into her arms. As per usual, the little hated being taken out, and she kicked her legs weakly and tried to squirm out of the woman's arms.

"No, Mama! Stay!" Wednesday kicked her legs in the air uselessly, splashing water onto the caregiver. Larissa shook her head, wrapping her in a large towel, picking her up again.

"Come on, let's get you some lunch then we can lay you down for a nap, hmm?" Larissa moved them to the nursery placing the scowling girl onto the changing table. Wednesday glared at her but didn't say anything as she was dressed for her nap. "Up you go, darling girl."

"Not hungry." Wednesday finally muttered out. Weems shook her head as she walked them into the kitchen. When the goth girl saw the pack of dino bars sitting on the counter she quickly changed her mind. The tall woman sat her down in her highchair, placing the tray over Wednesday's lap. "Dino!"

"Now you're hungry?" She chuckled as she grabbed a blueberry one from the box. Wednesday's eyes widened as she made grabby hands towards the treat. "Can you say please...?

Rolling her eyes, the little huffed. "Please."

She cooed happily as soon as she was given the snack, holding it in both hands and nibbling on it like a little gremlin. Weems stroked her hair. "See, that tastes much better than soil, doesn't it?"

"No..." Wednesday ate the rest of her snack in silence. Once she was done, she flopped forwards onto the tray, trying to hide her yawn in her elbow. It didn't go missed by Weems, who scooped her up onto her hip.

"Naptime for you, little miss."

"No! No nap!" The little tried to push Larissa away, her small sharp hands digging into the woman's ribs. "Put me down, Mama!"

"C'mon, it will be lit." Weems smiled, having used a new term she heard one of the students use. Wednesday stopped to look up at the woman, eyes narrowing in confusion.

"No. Can't make me!"

"Bet." She replied back, making Wednesday cringe.

"Mama stop, not cool." Wednesday wined, her face flushed with embarrassment.

Weems was successful at distracting Wednesday enough to get the girl into her crib without noticing. Wednesday only noticed once the woman let her go. She was going to sit up and call for her but decided that she in fact was tired. Closing her eyes, she fell asleep with her thumb firmly in her mouth.

In the living room, Weems was busy scrubbing the soil out of the carpet. She was determined for it not to stain. As she looked around the room, she realized that she was going to have to do some rearranging. What she had previously deemed to be an out-of-Wednesday's-reach shelf had been the one where she'd gotten the plant, and was in fact one of the lower ones.

Sighing, she grabbed her screwdriver. It was going to be a long day.
