Levi's Angel Ereri/Riren

part 12

Eren's POV

Levi was falling from the sky at a rapid pace. I wasted no time in flying to him. I managed to catch him before he reached the ground.

I set him down on the ground.

"Thanks brat." He weakly stated. I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

"I'm sorry. This is my fault, I should have listened to you!"

"No one can predict the future. You did what you thought was right."

"But, you're always saving me! Why? Why me?" I cried.

Levi let a faint smile brush his lips before closing his eyes.

"LEVI!"

In the distance the city was half destroyed. People were crying and screaming. Firetrucks and ambulances could be heard everywhere.

I leaned over to Levi's unconscious body and placed a kiss on his lips. I don't know why but it felt like I had wanted to do that for a while now.

Hanji came running up behind me a few moments later. She seemed to notice Levi lying limp on the ground with his head on my lap.

"Oh no! What happened???"

"He saved me." I couldn't stop the tears from falling

"Stop crying he isn't dead yet!" Hanji exclaimed. "Check his pulse."

I did as I was told. A few minutes ago when I checked his pulse I couldn't feel anything but this time I felt I might pulse. My face lit up as I looked up to Hanji.

She smiled "Alright! I need to get him back to my home in the underworld! I will patch him right up!" I stood up holding Levi in my arms. I handed his body to her.

"No you carry him, I'll lead the way!"

"But Hanji, I can't go to the underworld, I'm an angel."

She ignored me and started walking.

"No seriously you don't understand, I am the prince angel; I can't go!" I protested. She turned around.

"Do you care about Levi? And don't bother denying it because I can see it in your eyes. Listen I need your help saving him but if you're too scared to go to the underworld because of some stupid rules, then obviously you don't care enough about him!"

I let out a quick sigh and nodded.

When we reached the underworld it was noticibly darker then the surface. It had a very different atmosphere then both Earth and my home. It seemed to be darker flowed close behind Hanji. Many demons shot me weird looks, the fact that I was holding a well know demon in my arms didn't help either.

Within five minuted we were in Hanji's home that looked more like an experiment lab.

"Lie him on the table over there!" Hanji commanded. I obeyed and set Levi down. She gave him some weird pill and started dressing his wounds. She told me to sit in the living room and to help myself to anything in the fridge while she worked. I wasn't sure what type of food demons had but I wasn't in the mood to find out. I sat down on the couch. About half an hour later, Hanji emerged from the room with Levi and sat next to me.

"He should wake up in a few hours! See everything is fine!" She grinned. "Are you hungry? What am I saying, of course you are!" She disappeared into the kitchen.

I quickly followed her to see her look in her fridge.

"Um Hanji, I don't need anything..."

"Oh! Do you want a pomegranate??? They have those on the surface too! I think...." Wait I think Sasha has told me about those before, why not.

"Sure." I answered.

"Great! I'll bring it to the living room."

We ate the fruit, which was surprisingly good.

"Hey Hanji, what's today's date again?"

"It's March 29th!" She replied.

"What?!?" That means tomorrow is my birthday. Which means tomorrow I go back home.

"Is something wrong?"

"Eh, no sorry." I looked at the clock, 3:43 pm. We continued eating when I heard a knock at the door.

"Coming!" Hanji sang.

I heard her open the door and listened closely.

"Erwin! Hi how have you been, it's been sooo long!"

"Hanji. I assume you're aware of the events that have recently taken place on the surface."

"Yep, but they've been resolved right? So its okay now."

"What are you hiding, why aren't you letting me in?" I assumed Hanji was blocking the entrance so this Erwin guy couldn't see me or the condition Levi was in.

"Nothing! I'm just busy right now! Come back later."

"Hanji I'm coming in." I could hear him push past her. When he entered the living room his jaw dropped.

"HANJI!" He yelled.

I saw her slowly sneak in behind Erwin. "Yes?" She asked quietly.

"Why is there an angel in your living room?"

"That's a funny story..."

"You know this is against the rules."

"Yeah but-"

"You know what I don't want to hear it. I can sense Levi is here. Where is he?"

Hanji pointed to the room with Levi and joined me on the couch.

"Don't worry, he isn't a bad demon, he is just very highly ranked in the demon society and is always working.."

Erwin reemerged and sighed.

"Well that answers that question."

"What question?"

"We have been trying to figure out details for this huge mess and all the answers are sitting in your house."

"No there not!" She protested.

"Let's see, the horse demon we found lying on the surface summoned the Akuma no Uma. Then, this angel right here and Levi defeated it. I don't know how you got Levi to fight ut, but good job. My real question is why is Levi the one lying in there and this kid looks fine?"

"Wow your good!' Hanji smiled. " and its cause Levi saved him!"

"Levi saved him? That doesn't sound like him at all." Erwin raised one of his enormous eyebrows.

"So you helped defeat the Akuma no Uma?" Erwin directed the question at me. I nodded.

"What's your name kid?"

"Eren Jaeger." I replied.

"Jaeger? As in the royal angel family?" Erwin questioned. I nodded again.

"So your royalty?!?" Hanji bursted in.

"Hanji, I'm going to take him back to the surface. I'm guessing you were training on the surface right?"

"Yes."

"No wait!" Hanji stopped him.

"Can you at least wait until Levi wakes up?" Hanji begged. Its true, I did want to see him and make sure he's okay.

"Sorry, if word got out that the prince angel was in the underworld things would become very chaotic." Erwin answered. Hanji was about to protest but I stopped her.

"It's alright Hanji, just tell him I said goodbye when he wakes up."

She nodded and Erwin and I left.
