I shake my head I must have been imagining it. After all, I had had a long day, and there were a lot of strange fumes within this city.

I had obviously just seen a news article about 'Spiderpunk', because there was no way anyone would be able to move so fast that I didn't see them leave.

I sigh and turn around, collapsing back down onto my bed. I peer over to the window, making sure I had locked it. I let out a relieved sigh, didn't need anyone else crashing through my window. Especially while I was trying to relax.

I sit up and shuffle back a bit, leaning on the headboard of my bed. I pull my laptop off my bedside table and place it upon a pillow on my lap. I open it up and head back to doing my schoolwork. I slowly start nodding off to sleep while working, unable to keep my eyes open.

I drift off while working, just to be met with the sound of a crash, sounding like it came from another room. I reached under my bed to find my bat, just to be met with an empty space. Fuck. I started to panic, it was my first night, and there already seemed to be chaos in my house, I lived alone too. Well, aside from my snake.

I ball my hands into fists and put them up in front of my face, although I knew it probably wouldn't do much against whoever broke the window to an apartment on the eighth story of a building. I head to my bedroom door and think for a moment.

I close it quietly, locking it in place with a chair. It was the safest I was going to get. I wasn't strong enough my any means to fight off someone, without a weapon of course.

What if the person outside the door needed help? Oh no. But they could also be dangerous. I couldn't decide what to do. I should probably just play it safe.
