The next morning I wake up and make a smoothie before going for my daily run. When I finish, I take a shower. I then get dressed and do my regular skincare routine before applying light makeup and doing my hair up in a French twist.

I start prepping to cook lunch. I am making a sausage and spinach pasta with a spicy cream sauce. I mix together a Caesar salad. I then wash, peel, and cut potatoes before cooking them to make mashed potatoes. The doorbell rings as I pull out the wine glasses.

"Coming!" I announce before opening the door. "Hi, Nick. I hope you like pasta."

"Very much so. It smells amazing in here, Nikki."

"Thank you. Would you prefer wine, beer, soda, or water?"

"What do you recommend?"

"Well, this merlot is supposed to pair well with the pasta, and it makes this a kinda fancy."

"We are a little dressed up compared to our usual. Oh, I brought these for you, honey."

"Oh, thank you, darling

"Oh, thank you, darling. They are beautiful. Well, here we are. Would you say grace?"

"Absolutely."

We eat lunch, and Nick helps me with the dishes once we are done. I exchange our wine glasses for beer bottles and lead Nick to the back patio. We talk about the coming months, graduation, and flying. Nick leaves after an hour so he has time to prep for our second date tonight. He picks me up at 1730 and takes me to Jonas Green Park. I see a picnic all set up for us with tealight candles and flowers displayed in a beautiful array.

"Oh, Nicholas. It's lovely. No one has ever done something quite like this for me."

"I'm glad you like it. I was nervous you wouldn't."

"No, I love it, Nick."

After we eat, we walk around the park until we reach a gazebo which is decked out in romantic fairy lights with rose petals and candles leading to it.

"Goose, what—oh wow!" I exclaim as I see him on one knee.

"Nicole, I've known you for three-and-a-half years now. I've met your family, and you became my family. We have a few months of school left, but I don't want to wait. Nikki with you—I found that loving feeling, and staying with you is anything but a sin. You shake my nerves, and you rattle my brain. This love is fine, and I want to make you mine so—Nicole Elise Seresin, will you marry me?"

"Nicholas William Bradshaw—Absolutely, yes! I will marry you. Oh, Goose!"

"Is it all right?"
