I stared at Reem in disbelief.

"Why are you not speaking now? What do you mean by Mr Khan invested money in baba's company?" I shouted to get an answer, she heaved a sigh

"I was not supposed to tell you that. But you drove me so mad that I told you something I shouldn't" she said, I rolled my eyes

"Just tell me the truth Reem. Shazib invested money, so why are you taking Mr Khan's name?" I asked growing impatient

"Athar Bhai only used Shazib's name, actually he is the one who helped baba"

"This can't be true" I shook my head in disbelief

"It is"

"But how is it possible? I asked

She told me everything, how she overheard the conversation between Mr Khan and Shazib, how Mr Khan made her promise that she would not tell me anything, the conversation happened between me and Mr Khan that night at the terrace in the ancestor's house, and what he did after that.

This new information blew my mind away. My mind was numb, I didn't know what to say, how to react, I just blankly stared at Reem.

Overwhelmed was such a small word to describe my condition at the moment.

Suddenly air felt too thick to breathe, I started breathing in and out heavily

"Ayesha! Relax" Reem held my hand and took me in the car, we both settled in, she turned on the AC and passed me a water bottle, which I accepted gladly, I took big sips

"Has he, really?" I asked myself more than Reem.

"I'm sorry Ayesha, it was not my place to tell you" she said

"If he has invested the money, then why did he threaten me to stop the merge?"

"He was never going to stop the merge, he just used this thing to convince you to marry him" she said, I frowned

"Athar Bhai loves you terribly, his love for you makes him blind, he loses his senses when it comes to you" she held my hand and spoke

"Love" I repeated the word absent mindedly

"Please Ayesha, don't tell me that you still doubt his love, and if you are thinking that if he loved you then why did he use such a sensitive thing to marry you, then let me remind you, when you got stuck in that building he didn't think twice before jumping in and saving your life, while risking his own, because he loved you and he was scared to lose you, so when he was actually going to lose you to someone else, how can you expect from him to sit and think rationally, he made an emotional decision, just because he couldn't see you going away" her words made me see things from different perspective

"You had a complaint with him that he separated you from baba and mumma, so now tell me isn't he the one who has brought them back to you. Are you even aware how much he pleaded baba to forgive you?
