Hello, and welcome back to Sacrifice- a The Last of Us fanfic that follows the relationship of Tommy Miller, Maria Allen, and the daughter they co-parent, Jeanie Miller- all while in the midst of surviving a cordyceps outbreak.
This is the Author's Note for Part 2. If you have not read Part 1, please do so before continuing from here. If you do not, I GUARANTEE that you will be very confused.
Part 2 will begin by taking place 2 YEARS after the END of Part 1 (so Jeanie will be 15 and Jesse will be 14). It takes place in 2023- 11 years premature to the beginning of The Last of Us Part 1. That being said, the events of Part Two of this fanfic takes place only one year before Joel and Ellie's journey begins (I cut out 10 years, but let's pretend I didn't).
If you are confused, I'll break it down a little more below...
late 2020, early 2021: end of Part One of Sacrifice
time skip (2 years)
summer of 2023: beginning of Part Two of Sacrifice
summer of 2024: Joel and Ellie meet
