Kaeya caught u the other day in the halls chatting away as soon as he saw u.

u both grabbed lunch before u had to leave to send some stuff back to ur home town.

bringing u guys ordered food he settled down on the table u two acquired at the restaurant u were at.

"this looks good" u hummed as u dug in already making the raven haired male chuckle at ur eagerness.

"u must be really hungry" he said as he dug in himself, eating the fries.

"yeah. I hadn't ate since mornings breakfast, usually I take some snacks with me but I couldn't even do that. it's starting to get so hectic doing this stupid project" u sighed as u had flashbacks on how the teacher who took u guys to the studio had started to lecture everyone on deadlines.

"at this point might as well drop dead" u say stuffing the fries inside ur mouth making kaeya smile. "too early for that don't u think? besides I think u will be fine. u have made some memorable friends and u have albedo in that class. he's got u" he told u as he finally picked up the fried chicken wings.

"God these r good. where did u find this place kaeya?" u said, mouth full of the huge bite u took as u wiped the excessive from the corners as the male smirked. "I was brought here with some guys from college on my birthday" he began.

"said person who suggested it was....scaramouche " he said, carefully noting ur expression as u paused for a moment hearing the man's name as u continued eating when u looked back at kaeya who looked at u with raised brows.

"really?" u tried to make it seem like a nonchalant topic to u, trying not to show ur amusement or surprised interest as to how and why was scara hanging out with kaeya who hangs out with complete opposite people...especially knowing the history between albedo and scara...

kaeya however, was fully aware of u avoiding such suspicions as he offered u a tissue to wipe ur mouth.

"relax. I kind of have an idea what's going on between u and him" he said as u paused again looking at him with a raised brow as to continue what he meant by that.

"I actually saw u two in the hallway the other day, the day we went out. u know..." he starts as he continues eating treating the topic very lightly too, careful to not make u uncomfortable.

"I know u have heard this many times y/n, from me. from beidou, yanfei, hutao, maybe even Ajax at some point...but I really think...u shouldn't be so close to scaramouche" he said, now finally making eye contact w u.

some part of u knew he was going to throw that at u sooner or later when he first brought up his name. u finished eating ur bite as u took a sip from the drink.

"I know. and trust me I have tried. tried my very best...I just..." u stutter mid sentence as u sighed.

"u just can't stay away from him?" he completed the sentence for u.

too ashamed to even say it out loud, u nodded ur head meekly.

"don't tell hutao about this"

"is ur ex bothering u with letters and showing up at ur door also something I shouldn't inform hutao about?" he inquired once again making u choke on ur drink.

"how do u...know that..?"

ur brows furrowed as u looked at the man in front of u.

"I saw him too, the day scara took u back. I was coming back with beidou and the others when he was leaving...I knew he was here for u"

he picked up his fries, dipped it in ketchup, and "I also saw u worriedly looking at a bunch of letters and throwing them away with some flowers. probably sent him too"
as he ate his fries.
