Venus couldn't help but feel relieved as the speeder she was in pulled up to one of her childhood homes. The infamous Senator's lounge, where any Senator would live if elected.

She thanked the driver before climbing out of the vehicle with Zae in her arms— but before she could even step away from Aerol, he hooked an arm around her shoulders. "Best behavior tonight." He spoke. "Understood?"

Venus bobbed her head, forcing a smile on her face as soon as she spotted her family. "Understood." She went along with him. The couple approached her— their— family together. Aerol and her father greeted each other with a hand shake while Venus greeted her mother with a hug.

"Goodness, Zae is getting so big!" Her mother cooed at the infant. Venus passed her over, directing her attention to the young woman standing next to her.

"I could say the same about you, Aurelia." She greeted her sister. "You look more grown every time I see you!"

Aurelia hugged her, a big smile on her face. "It's good to see you too, Venus. Living in the palace is boring without you."

"Oh," a cheeky smile flashed on the soon the be Queen's face. "I'm sure it is. After all, I am the fun sister, aren't I?"

The younger of the two scoffed, backing out of the hug. "Let's not get crazy now."

Their reunion was interrupted when their father tapped Venus on the shoulder. "My daughter." He hummed. "My successor."

Venus awkwardly turned and smiled to her dad, bowing her head. "Father."

"Aelia," Aerol went to kiss the Queen on her cheek. "You look lovely."

That was it? That was all her father had to say to her after no contact for months? It didn't surprise Venus, but it still hurt. All her father saw her as was an heir, not as an actual daughter. If anything, he saw Aerol more as one of his own.
