Clovel had received an email a couple of weeks ago asking him to do an interview where he would showcase his painting skills. The purpose of the interview was to shine a light on Los Angeles artists for an art magazine, with a particular focus on underrated talents.

Knowing that the interview would take place at his home, Clovel spent the past week making preparations. He had someone cut the grass, clean the house, and trim the hedges, ensuring that the exterior looked impeccable. Additionally, he parked his cars in the garage, intending to showcase his artwork exclusively.

The appointed day arrived, and the interviewer, accompanied by a videographer, made their way to Clovel's home. "Hello, Mr. Hawkins. Thank you for granting us the opportunity to capture this moment," the interviewer greeted him warmly, extending a handshake. Clovel reciprocated the gesture, expressing his pleasure and gratitude.

Since he knew he would be painting, he dressed casually for the occasion. Engaging in conversation, he offered the interviewer and videographer drinks and snacks to make them feel at home. Despite his nerves, Clovel was excited to embark on this new experience.

"Are you ready?" the interviewer asked, as Clovel settled into his seat, spray paint cans in hand. "Yes," he replied, ready to begin. The videographer initiated a countdown, signaling the start of the interview. "Today, I have the pleasure of being here with an exceptional artist on the rise in Los Angeles, Mr. Clovel Hawkins Jr. He is going to showcase his artistic talent while we interview him.," the interviewer introduced him with enthusiasm.

"Clovel, we are incredibly grateful that you dedicated your time today to participate in this interview," the interviewer expressed with gratitude.

Clovel smiled modestly and replied, "The pleasure is mine." The interviewer continued, "What would you say has been the inspiration behind your journey in art?", curious about the driving force behind Clovel's artistic creations.

"I feel that painting allows me to escape from everyday reality and immerse myself in the realm of creativity," he responded thoughtfully. "It's a form of expression where I can let my imagination run wild and bring my visions to life."

He continued with a serene smile, "When I paint, I find a sense of relaxation and tranquility. It's a meditative process that helps me disconnect from the noise of the world and dive into a world of colors, shapes, and emotions. It's a space where there are no limits, and I can freely explore and experiment with my artistic voice." Clovel's eyes lit up as he spoke, clearly passionate about the freedom and inspiration that painting provides.

The interviewer nodded in understanding, appreciating the deep connection between art and the ability to escape and find solace in one's own creativity.

The interviewer smiled warmly and asked, "At what point did you have the realization that art was something you wanted to pursue as a career?"

Clovel took a moment to reflect as he finished outlining his painting. "I think it was when my art teacher, Mrs. Mason, told me that she saw tremendous talent in me and wished to see my art showcased in other places. She expressed that to my father and he was eager to get my work out," he replied with a smile, acknowledging her influence. The videographer and interviewer observed Clovel's painting process with admiration and interest.
