Chapter 13
Bad
"How is he?"
"Why don't you visit him yourself?" Lawyer John replied.
Kakapasok palang niya sa kotse sa labas ng kulungan matapos nitong bisitahin si Paige.
Hindi sumagot ang kausap nito habang nakaupo sa driver seat ng kotse.
"He looks devastated, sad, lonely, pitiful, tired, and sick." He exaggerated. They were talking about Paige right now.
"Gio, namatayan siya. He needs someone to lean on! Someone who he can hold at this time. Sa pag-uusap namin kanina, I don't think he can survive this alone." Saad ni Lawyer John.
"He's not alone. He is strong, I know for sure that he will do everything to live on." Saad ni Rafael.
That was what he thought about Paige.
"He is a strongly independent person. He survived all throughout his life alone. Ni hindi siya humingi ng tulong sa mga magulang nitong mga nagdaang taon. That's why..."
Hindi natapos sabihin ni Rafael kaniyang sasabihin ng biglang dumapo ang kamay ni John sa kaniyang mukha. Sinampal siya nito.
"Wake up, Sergio Rafael! You are being a jerk!I didn't agree to work with you just to see someone suffering because of you. I didn't work to torment him." Saad ni John. He looks angry at Rafael.
Furiously, he added. "Just because he's been independent all this time doesn't mean he is strong. It's okay to be independent but not all the time you can do everything on your own. He's feeling alone and lonely at this time. He needs someone. He needs... you."
Hindi nakasagot si Rafael. Napalunok siya at humigpit ang kaniyang pagkakahawak sa manebala.
Pinaandar niya ang kotse na siyang kinagulat ni John.
"Ha! I can't believe that I befriend someone as bad as you." Saad ni John dito.
Lawyer John has been friends with Rafael since they were young. He is now working with Paige, as by the request of Rafael.
Paige couldn't get any lawyer at the time due to someone pulling strings. He has been red flag by the attorneys. Red flag means that lawyers shouldn't be involved with Paige no matter, having their work at the line.
Rafael remained quiet for the rest of the travel but John continued to slander Rafael as they arrive at their destination.
"You're stupid since we're young, 'wag mo naman dalhin hanggang ngayon!" Saad ni John.
"That's enough for today. Go home." Saad ni Rafael.
Hindi na siya tinignan ni John at agad na agad nitong tinanggal ang kaniyang seat belt.
"I will still work for this case. Not for you, but for Paige." John said. Binuksan na nito ang pinto ng kotse at bumaba na.
"Don't forget everything that I've said." Dagdag nito bago sinara ang pinto.
