Nang makabalik si Paige kung saan si Lawyer John ay nagtaka ito kung bakit nagbago ang mukha ni Paige. He looks so emotionless that it is ominous. Ang lalim ng tingin ni Paige nang pumasok ito sa kwarto.

Bagama't hindi nagsalita si Lawyer John ay napansin nito ang pagbabago ng mood ni Paige. Lawyer John just quietly hope that it would not affect the hearing.

"Mr. Montero, you just need to answer the questions honestly okay? Just calmly do that." Lawyer John reminded Paige to do that.

And then, it was Paige's turn for hearing on his case. Nakaupo na ngayon si Paige sa gilid ng korte kung saan nakaupo ang defendant kasama si Lawyer John.

Tinignan niya ang manood sa kaniyang hearing. There was no familiar faces there. Kahit isang pamilya or relatives niya ay walang pumunta doon.

Maya-maya pa ay dumating ang mga judges. Nagsimula na ang kaniyang hearing.

"I solemnly declare and affirm that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." Paige with his affirmation.

Then the hearing started. Everything went smoothly. Lawyer John was doing explendidly well. Kitang-kita na siya ang nangunguna sa hearing na ito laban sa mga prosecutor.

Paige was watching the whole thing. And then, he realised that Lawyer John was doing his best defending him in this court. He was grateful.

Labis na nagulat si Paige nang biglang tumawag si Lawyer John ng ibang witnesses. Ang mas lalo pang kinagulat niya ay nang makita niya ang lima sa mga nag confess at sinabing siya ang leader ng organisation.

Tinignan niya si Lawyer John. Wala ito sa kanilang pinag-uusapan kaya medyo kinabahan si Paige. Nilingon naman siya ni Lawyer John at binigyan ng okay sign dahilan para mapanatag ang kaniyang loob.

"Your honor, the witness they brought have already made a confession against the offender. The witnesses might be irrelevant!" Saad ng prosecution.

Tinignan ng judge ang prosecution bago si Lawyer John.

"Will the affirmation do to make us trust their words?" Tanong ni Lawyer John.

Then the judges agreed to use the new witnesses for this case. Lawyer John immediately went to question the witnesses after they have spoken their affirmations. Matapos niyon ay isa-isang tinanong ang mga bagong witness.

"Have you ever contacted Mr. Montero during your illegal transactions?" Tanong ni Lawyer John sa

"No." Sagot nito.

"Objection your honor! The witness is not telling the truth!" Sigaw ng prosecution side.

"From your messages and contacts, it's clearly shown that Mr. Montero was here. Are you saying this is not true?" Tanong ng punong hukom.

"Yes. It's a different number but we have saved and called the person using Mr. Montero's name as a disguise." Saad nito.

"Then why is these all from international calls?" Tanong muli ng punong hukom.

"The order came from Italy using a burner phone. But it wasn't from Mr. Montero." Saad ng witness.

Paige is now gritting his teeth. Why does the witness changing his words now? Bakit ngayon pa na nakakulong na siya. He already made a confession against him. Dapat noong una palang ay sinabi na nito ang katotohanan.
